Maybe by Sat we'll see the purpose behind having this track. Hopefully kuvi fight comes soon

Exactly! Every ploy Yuvi has played so far I have been intrigued and I wanted to watch what would happen next. But seeing a woman being exploited and sexually abused onscreen is really not what I tune in for every day. When I think of the tracks that they wrapped up quickly, whether it be Twinkle running the business or proving Yuvraj's guilt I wonder why they are using up so much screen time on this scenario. Maybe I'm mistaken and it jsut feels longer to me?

The tracks where Twinkle took over their wedding planning business and the one where Twinkle and Mahi conspired to take down Yuvraj really showed how empowered women could basically face anything. BUt now they've gone back to the stale story of showing women as victims. There is nothing wrong with that scenario if the story demands it but I think this was unnecessarily done just to grab more eyeballs.

Swati I have to respectfully disagree with your statements I highlighted. There are millions of women in this world who are left powerless by their circumstances. THey are traded as commodities by, sometimes stranger, by sometimes their own kin. And I don't mean this only women who are Indian. The instances where women are treated unfairly far outnumber the situations where they are treated with respect. Yes the dramas show an exaggerated and heightened situation of what might happen. BUt today's episode left me disgusted with the choices made by the show runners about the content they chose to broadcast.

For indian soap, this is pretty much the norm (rape, near rape and abuse). Was it disgusting? Yes...was it hard to watch? Yes..do I wish it didn't exist? A thousand Yes'es

However, something important to note. Yuvi's behaviour has not been show as right or even entertained as okay by the writers?... Twinkle clearly calls him out on it (i wish there had been a slap but..)

You're right if it was 2 men, this wouldn't have happened. This is only happening cos of sexism and misogyny, because Twinkle is a woman.

Don't also forget that one point Twinkle married the guy she accused of rape rather than put him in jail (did Kunj rape her? No...but from Twinkle's point of view, she din't know he never raped her and even fell for him before finding out for sure that he didn't rape her).

That is something I'm still uncomfortable with..from then on I learnt to keep my standards low of TEI and honestly I'm not surprised they would do this. Indian TV is full of abuse and normalises it under the pretence of love. It's improving but far too slowly.

Atleast this time, they didn't condone those actions...showing those things (and it happens in real life unfortunately) doesn't mean TEI condones it.

I completely agree with everything you said. I think the scene today was just so blatant and not at al implied that it really caught me off guard.

I have to be honest I started watching the show recently and while i binge watched it (or maybe because I did) Twinkle marrying Kunj didn't strike such a nerve as this scene did. maybe because Twinkle had the option of backing out, I don't know.

I wish the writers would wake up to the fact that their audience is changing and not resort to treating women so poorly on their shows just to prove how "Indian" they are.
