TEI portrays most of the women in non traditional way in relation to the Indian soaps. No abla nari types except Usha maybe be to some extent Mahi .
Most of these women we can relate to and want to be like.

Thank you.

TEI is subtly breaking grounds in Indian Television. This show is dominated by women but not for illogical reasons. They are personal but yet valid.

Anita & Leela's rivalry might have started off on a cliched misunderstanding but it has aggressively transformed into protecting their children at all costs. Not only that, this rivalry is no longer between the two women. It has transferred over to the children where they are actively fighting against each other. What makes Anita and Yuvi such great antagonists is the fact that they have no problems in getting down and dirty whereas Twinkle and Leela are bounded by their morals and ethics.

Usha, as I said before, has been inserted to be the stereotypical mother-in-law, but even she hasn't been given that much attention lately, so it's all good.

Mahi, I feel has layers as well. Just need to catch up to the current episodes to fully bring them out. 😆

Thank you!

I personally love Anita and Leela. They are such strong female characters who use their powers in differing ways. Their whole approach to their rivalry, their mannerisms, their behaviors towards their children, their reactions to their children's marriage, their re-marriage!

I can't wait to delve into them even further!

Leela, I'm iffy about. I still have to see how they introduced RT before I can comment on her properly. I feel like the CVs butchered the way he was brought back.

I wouldn't say Usha is hypocritical about that. Kunj is only beginning to realize and form these emotions for Twinkle. I don't think he would go up to Usha and declare his love for Twinkle when he is so unsure himself.

Again, yes Twinkle has done a lot for the family, but all the problems that have been arisen are all due to her. If Twinkle hadn't gotten married to Kunj, then none of these problems would have happened in the first place. Yeah, the Bebe drama would have, but everything that was caused by Anita and Yuvi, not so much.

There was one clip that I saw, where Twinkle was about to leave for the airport and she hugged Usha. Usha was genuinely shocked. Here she has been, being rude as hell to her and yet Twinkle compliments her and hugs her affectionately before leaving. It really did take her aback but I didn't watch rest of the episodes to know how she reacted. :P

I definitely will be talking about Alisha!

It was after I had posted this that I realized I didn't mention Alisha, Pinni or Chinki. I will be talking about all the women in this show. Rest assured. 😆

I might even move on to the men if people are interested. :)

I get what you are saying. The only reason i called her hypocritical was that one episode where she lies to Kunj about what Twinkle did instead of telling him that she actually saved her from Manohar's thappad. Like that got Kunj mad and as a wife whose husband is always mad i would expect her to wish that her son shouldn't do that to his own wife.

And very true Twinkle as been the start to many problems. The one where Twinkle hugs Usha is really nice because it showed how Twinkle felt and its showed Usha's reaction. Recently Usha has been a bit less critical on her, i hope it stays that way.

You said you saw a clip, have you not watched the ep?

I can't wait for you to talk about the rest of the gals. And yes you should do the dudes too they all have variety of personalities, I mean Kunj and Yuvi are like foils, polar opposite seriously!

That's a valid point. But here's my argument, why couldn't Twinkle simply say the truth? Granted they did not enter their marriage on healthy terms, but she did not need to have taken that accusation against her character. She could have easily defended herself and stated what the truth was. Heck, Bebe was there and she would have laid things out straight. Yet, she kept the truth from him and let him believe in the lies that his mother fed him. Isn't that equally damaging as being hypocritical?

No, I merely watched a clip that Zee TV put up on their YouTube channel. I still have a long way to go. I'm currently on the episode where TwiNj have reached the hotel in Goa.

Will do! :D

I can just talk about Kunj all day.

But Yuvi isn't any less interesting. The psychological damage that he has received from his mother is so intriguing for me and I really want to explore where his mother's influence stops and his volunteered violent actions begin.

Idk how u do it. The way you explained each character was amazing. You made me see Nikki and Usha in a whole new light.
I had never thought of Nikki's actipns from that point of view. and you added a whole new perspective to usha as a character. Loved it.
You also reminded me as to why i admored anita and leela in the beginning.

Gur you nailed it.

Thank you so much Ragini! 🤗

The analysis that I gave for Nikki just came on the spot whereas for Usha, it has been something that has been mentioned quite a few times on the forum already, but was simply expanded. :)

It's nice to take a step back and look at these characters more thoroughly. What we get on the surface isn't always what's true.

Thanks Zawra!

Honestly, we have the strongest women on our show right now because of all their complexities and diversities. We don't have a small range nor an of stereotyped women. Yes, we have these women cry at times, but we also have them be brave and resolute and tenacious. If we have them be merciful and graceful then we also have them be ruthless and cruel. If we have them in helpless situations then we also have them take on empowering roles.

There isn't just one archetype of a woman; we have a whole basket that we may choose from. This to me, is a highly pleasing matter because this is how women should be represented. Not as an ultimate persona of a single emotion (the heartless woman, the sentimental woman, the brave woman, the working woman etc.). Rather, as an amalgamation of a whole multitude of emotions and qualities/traits. This is what a real woman is. She is not one-dimensional or two. She is a mixture of many different elements that assist in creating her whole.
