Feeling SickKunj paced in his room contemplating on his decision for the hundredth time.
You should go Kunj. She is not feeling well and being her fiancee it is your duty to check up on her.
But on the other hand...
Are you kidding me? By going over, you're basically inviting her to insult you again. And besides her family is here to take look after her. Why should they have all the fun while you stress out over little nothings? And anyways, enjoy the few precious moments to yourself that you have while you can. We both know that after you get married, you're practically going to be entering Hell.
But then again...
No! If not as a fiancee then at least as a decent human being you should see how she's doing. If she doesn't want to see you then that's her problem. At least you would have done the noble thing by checking up on her. Besides we both know that there is no honor in engaging in a battle with an injured opponent.
But still...
Fine! You want to go and get yourself insulted, then fine by me. The door is right in front of you. Go and get humiliated by her once more. Don't come crying back to me when she makes your head hang in shame.
So then...
You should definitely go. Before the fiasco, she did consider you to be a friend. I think... but there was a trust and faith that she had in you. Just because of one misunderstanding you can't leave her hanging when she needs you the most. You know how Yuvi has been misbehaving with her and lately he even kidnapped her right before your very nose. You can't let this keep happening. She's no longer merely Twinkle Taneja. She is now going to be Twinkle Sarna. The daughter-in-law of the Sarna household and your wife. You can't let her be insulted or be subjected to vulnerability in any way. It is your job to keep her strong enough to fight her battles when you're not there to help her out.
Kunj knocked on the connecting door.
Twinkle opened it, with sleep still in her eyes. Without bothering to greet him, she turned around and holding her stomach, walked back to the bed.
Kunj hesitantly followed, not sure of what to say.
Okay I'm in her room. Now, what do I say?
Twinkle tucked herself underneath the covers while Kunj stood before her bed awkwardly.
"What is it Kunj?" Twinkle asked, with her eyes closed and a hint of pain in her tone.
"I came to see if you're okay." He explained shyly.
"Well, I'm not." Twinkle grimaced.
"Do you want me to get something?" Kunj tensed up, standing on his heels ready to move in any direction that she told him to.
"No, I already took a tablet. Just need to wait a few days. It'll go away on its own." She held her stomach tightly again.
Kunj scrunched his eyebrows in confusion. Twinkle opened her eyes and saw his reaction.
Rolling her eyes, she asked, "Where's mom?"
"They all went out to watch a film." Kunj answered, piquing Twinkle's curiosity.
"Why didn't you go?" She asked, now sitting up.
"B-Because..." Kunj avoided meeting her gaze, "you're not feeling well..."
Twinkle stared at him softly, feeling warmth spread over her for his kind act. Not wishing to ask him the motive behind his act, she merely thanked him. Kunj looked up in surprise as he hadn't been expecting such a positive response.
With a small smile that wanted to form into a grin, he said, "You're most welcome."
Twinkle smiled back, blushing.
"So, what do you want to do?" She asked him, her sleep now flown away.
"Umm, movie?" He offered with a grand smile to which she slowly nodded.
He couldn't believe Twinkle was behaving so kindly with him, without any malicious intent.
"I'll be right back." He said eagerly, running to his room.
Bringing back his laptop with him, he approached her but then stopped. He looked around the room to see where he should prop the laptop so that they can watch it with ease.
"Just come sit beside me." Twinkle spoke tiredly.
Hesitantly, Kunj obliged.
The bed dipped and creaked beside Twinkle underneath Kunj's weight. As the laptop came to life, Twinkle was surprised to see the wallpaper that Kunj had saved on his desktop. It was a group picture of both their families on the day of their engagement.
They all look so happy, Twinkle thought as she looked upon their wide grins and gleaming teeth.
She then looked at her and Kunj. They were made to stand really close to each other by the photographer and who had been determined to capture them all in one photograph. Kunj's arm had been around her hip and she had been pressed up against him. She still remembered the way his lips had occasionally brushed over the top of her head and how she had to hold onto him to balance herself.
She has been in close proximity with Yuvi many times. But the type of feeling that she had gotten when she was with Kunj had been vastly different. He had many opportunities to touch her exposed skin by holding her waist, but he never did. Rather, he kept his hand on her hip the entire time. He hadn't even looked at her in a way that could have been misconstrued by the family. He had kept his and her integrity and had remained a perfect gentleman.
Then why did you blame him?
Twinkle startled at the question. She sat up straight as Kunj played the movie. As the credits rolled around, Kunj offered her a chocolate bar which she had happily accepted. As she took the bar from him, she looked at him graciously.
He doesn't have to be here, but yet here he is. The least you can do is not question his motives and just enjoy this moment Twinkle. Besides, considering all the shit you've been through the last few weeks, you deserve at least a few hours of peace and happiness.
"Thank you." Twinkle thanked Kunj who was highly surprised.
With a soft, small smile, he answered, "You're welcome."
They both looked at each other, hoping that this moment of peace and mutual acceptance that they are granting each other, could seamlessly bleed into all their future moments together.
