Few things the makers hsould take notice of.

1) That Popatlal is not someone who is loved by all the GD behenjis. Actually we have one Babita who doesn't appreciate him staying in her wing.

2) That Popatlal is not married because he is an Akdu man. According to Babita no girl will ever accept him

3) That Popatlal was already pretty late for marriage then.

4) That he will need to look for a woman instead of a girl for marriage.

When did all these change ?

For example : Popat has a tiff with the sabzi wali and all hte GD behens share their vegetables with Popat to keep him calm

Or Daya goes to baba to resolve his Vivah badha or even does Shivratri yatra for him ?

Kab se shuru hui hai ye nautanki? I think things started changing since Kerry track and thereafter series of Popat falling for every woman and GD women supporting him blindly had happened. I always believed Popat fell in love ony during Kerry track. This track gave him a character to play and his bachelorhood became the epitome of comedy in the show.

The point is very simply. Don't want him to marry ?Well then be it like that only. Don't bring a girl out of nowhere to spoil it in the end. Its no more funny.

Some time back,I read an interview of Monica aka Bawri.She said that if popat gets married in the show,his character will lose it's importance.

So this is the reason the writers are deliberately not getting Popat married because they have to be more creative and show different tracks on popat after marriage which they don't want to.Since last few years, they are only recycling old tracks and are not showing anything new.

If they are not interested in getting Popat married then they should stop showing his failed marriage tracks too.They are not realizing how much frustrating it is for the viewers.This show always talks about positivity but every Popatlal track ends on a sad note.

You made a very valid point that popatlal falls for every girl he come across be it KERRY, Anjali's sister, Babita's friend, a girl whom he saw in a restaurant during that wrong number track, any anchcor of GPL, etc etc. ...

These kind of cheap things like falling for all ladies make popu kind of charachterless man which i believe is not good for such family show

Popatlal desperate for marriage situation is as funny as all those 1000s of jokes on husbands complaining of wife.

Frankly the actor looks so old ( and I don't mean to hurt his fans) now that any girl in front of him will make him look like cradle snatcher. I happened to watch only one scene in the recent track where Popat asks Kiran to come for coffee. The way he was smiling and feeling shy was uggh.. He looked like a therki. Will any girl come on a date with such uncle type ? The marriage should have happened earlier but if it hasn't then fine, move on. The world has not come to an end.

I agree.He looks too old.The character himself must be in his 40s.

I think after all these failed attempts,either he should realize or others should make him realize that marriage is not in his destiny.

Or they can show him falling for a woman who is of his age or little younger or older than him.And they should get popat married to that woman.

There can be umpteen no.of tracks on him after marriage too and we will get a new character.

Its interesting to know how whole GD society helped Popat finding the giril ( Read: Stalking the girl). I want to know if Bhide will like if an older man stalks his daughter once she is of marriageable age. Last time the Mehtas were visibly irritated with Popat. Even Jetha showed his dislike during Kerry track.

The point is a man falling for every young girl is not appreciable even in the name of comedy. Also, in a city like Mumbai a man his age can easily get married provided he looks for a woman his age.

Remember the Senorita/Kalavati track ? He was playing dual roles then. He was cultured Indian for one and completely westernized for the other. Basically, the girl or her background is not important for him. This is anything but sane because no girl want a man without an opinion. Someone needs to tell him this.

GD wasis are of no use. Popat needs a real family . A chacha, mama , mausi or bua may be who can give him a reality check. Someone needs to force him now to do things he doesn't want to do. Only because he wants him to be 'chota bhai' of all badi behens and all bade bhais of GD don't make him any younger. There has to be someone like Bapuji for Popat also.

Yet if his marriage is not possible then stop bringing random girls to create recycled tracks.

There are many women who couldn't get married due to various circumstances he should look for such women who would marry him 100% if at all he is willing to.
