Disha Vakani, tied the knot with Mumbai-based businessman, Mayur Parihaar. The wedding, low key affair took place in Oshiwara, Mumbai.
The wedding was a small, personal affair,
Gujarati wedding is all about groom arriving on horse dressed in traditional attire family members' dance in surrounding on the traditional music of band. But, here it was totally opposite. Mayur Parihaar was spotted waiting in his luxurious car, Audi outside the venue. He entered the venue according to the muhurat time along with his family members and close friends.
Traditional wedding:
Since both of them come from a Gujarati background, every ritual followed in the wedding was done in a traditional Gujarati style. Mayur was groom is welcomed by Disha's family in traditional way where her mother performed aarti. While Mayur was waiting at the entrance, Disha who was dressed up in panetar (traditional gujarati wedding outfit) arrived at the spot. They both exchanged the garland and went inside the hall. Later on, other rituals like Ganesh pooja, Kanya aagman, Jaimala, Kanya dan, Varmala, Hast milap, pheras, ashirward and bidaai took place.
Low profile wedding:
Both Disha and Mayur's families decided to keep wedding a low profile affair. The wedding ceremony was witnessed by only 50-60 members. A source reveals, "Both of the families had invited only family members to the wedding. They decided to keep the reception ceremony for all their closed ones. Mayur's comes from a non-filmy background and so his family members had requested to keep wedding a low affair."
The wedding rituals started at 11am which went on till mid-afternoon. Later on, it was followed by lunch. The couple left the venue around 5 pm.
Emotional affair:
Disha Vakani's father, Bheem Vakani always dreamt of his daughter getting settled soon in her real life. Finally, the day arrived. The vidaai ceremony witnessed tears of joy and sadness from Disha and her family. In an interview, Disha's father said, "I am very happy today; seeing my daughter as a bride was a dream for me. And today, my dream has been full-filled. It's an emotional journey for all of us. I just pray for my daughter's happiness in future too."
Disha's brother, Mayur Vakani also got emotional during the vidaai ceremony.
