Initially Jetha was shown as a clever but uneducated businessman. SInce he is not educated himself he has no idea how important education is. Thus, Iyyer is judged on the basis of colour only.

In one episode he said to Daya how he wanted to marry a stylish and educated woman but bapuji wont allow him to do so. Therefore Daya came into his life. He doesn't even care to know that he cannot have a wife of his dreams because he is not qualified himself.

Why he flirts with Babita ? He actually is mesmerized by her style, her attitude and beauty.

I think its so not correct thing to do but I have seen many man doing so. Being a female myself I have experienced unwanted attention from men. Its right or wrong lets not debate on that as of now but its not really an unknown feature, is it ?

Waise Iyyer also want to put Jetha in trouble and helps him only under Babita's pressure.

3. Sheru track : A man can actually die of fear. Iyyer knowing how much Jetha is scared of dogs deliberately did that.

4. Babita's bday track: He not only insulted Jetha but also insulted his whole family.

Jetha is a helpful person otherwise. Be it Sodhi, Bhide or anyone outside the GD society, he has helped everyone. He even helped unknown people

@dey.bh,i was only trying to drill sense into stone headed asssit modddi who seems to have shifted residence to mars(maybe).Instead of atleast applying some of our ideas ,he is repeating same ghis pita tracks which have rusted all my kitchen vessels so much i cant use them-I have stopped seeing this show& am only watching old TMKOC where atleast humour was great,tracks were not stale !

The answer to ur question is given in this show itself.Remember,Mehta had once said that jitna Anjali usse tel aur masaledaar khana khane se rokti hai,utna hi uska mann lalchata hai who food khane ke liye.That's human nature.If one person keeps controlling the other person and always stop him from doing something,the latter always feels like doing that thing.

In jetha's case,his father is the one who always controls him.I think when jetha was young,he may have wanted to flirt with beautiful and modern women but couldn't do so because of the fear of his father.He always wanted to marry a modern and educated woman but couldn't do so because of his father.So now he got the chance to fulfill his wish and therefore he is not losing it.

He got a beautiful and modern neighbor like babita.

Babita loves his flirting.That's the main reason that's why he doesn't care for iyer.If babita would have objected to his flirting even once then I am sure he would have stopped it.

Secondly daya and champak are still not able to know that he is flirting with babita.So he thinks that inn logo ko pata nahi chal raha hai so I can happily use this opportunity and do my flirting.

Thirdly he gets support from Mehta.When iyer objects to the flirting,Mehta takes jetha's side and that gives jetha even more choot to flirt.

So jetha has all these factors in favor of him and that's why he is taking full advantage of that.

Why jetha hates iyer?The reason is obviously babita.If one woman always embarrasses and disrespects her husband in front of her flirtatious neighbor,the neighbor will obviously disrespect the husband.He feels babita made a big mistake of marrying iyer and she may not be happy with him and that's why he hates him.And this has been shown many times that jetha feels that iyer was babita's wrong choice.
