In the episode aired on 16th of feb 2011, Popatlal is reading his horoscope in the newspaper and declares he's 'kanya raashi' or virgo (born in the month of september).

He might have been checking up on his moon sign in the newspaper.

And his moon sign can be completely different and that will be based on his date of birth too, but his rashi would be calculated with regard to the position of the moon not the sun. Indian vedic astrology follows the chandra rashi or moon sign, not the sun sign.

@mulan08..if you check the episode..you wil see that they show the newspaper and focus on virgo and the dates - 23 aug - 22 september (written in hindi below virgo in the paper)..which simply means he was born in the month of aug or sep..not june (as he revealed to the astrologer).

I admire your keen observation, but I beg to differ because many Indian people don't have Raashi corresponding to English calendar. But still they read the daily horoscopes like that.

not denying that..but like i clarified earlier as well (check the 4th post)..that popatlal says his raashi is kanya..and then they even 'show' the paper and zoom in on virgo (indicating thats the raashi he is referring to)..which obviously means he was born in either aug or sep..thus..the indian calender may classify that as some other raashi.. but if your birth month is september..you will check the virgo sunsign in the paper..not leo or saggi..his birth month is thus aug or sep..his raash by the indian calender could be different. ..and he states his birth month as 'june' later in the 25th feb episode.
