A prank that turned real!
TNN 20 November 2008, 12:00am IST Dilip Joshi can be quite a prankster and Daya learnt that on the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasma on SAB TV the other day.
Well, Dilip is usually very helpful towards Daya but for once, he decided to play a prank on her. He got someone from the unit to call her and tell her that she has been nominated for a best actor award and she must come all dressed up for a party tonight at the sets from where they will all go to attend the function.
Later that evening, Daya landed up on the set all dressed up. She saw nobody and was completely taken aback and called up someone from the unit who told her that they don€™t know of any such thing. Daya broke down right there and wondered who could have played such a prank on her. Just then, the whole unit started clapping and cheering for her. From the producer to the director to the spot boys, everyone was there to cheer Daya.
A party was organised for her on the sets as she is the most cooperative and supportive artist the unit has ever worked with! Daya was really touched and said that this is indeed more meaningful than any award that she could ever get. But the actress was in for yet another surprise! As the evening progressed, producer Asit Modi received a call to say that Daya has indeed been nominated for the best actor for the Indian Telly Awards! Now this is surely one fabulous kissa of a prank that turned real!
