The promo of the much-awaited royal drama, 'Pehredar Piya Ki' has finally hit the TV screens, where the wait couldn't have been longer. The show marks the return of actress, Tejasswi Prakash Wayangankar in the lead role and the saga certainly seems to be 'one-of-a-kind' in itself.

What is it about:

From the first frame of the viewing, we are treated to a pleasant night, where the moon is brightening the dark sky with a lit-up background in the form of extravagant settings.

An array of women, dressed in their traditional best, arrive to see the moon. That's the moment when it dawns upon us that it is the Indian festival of 'Karwa Chauth' that is being celebrated. Amidst this flock is a beautiful and docile looking girl (Tejasswi Prakash Wayangankar) who is looking at the moon through her sieve.

The next frame treats our eyes as wives look at their respective husbands through the sieve. Tejasswi's character also bows down and looks at her husband, who is actually a little kid.

Yes! That's right. That is a scene stealer where a little boy, dressed as a prince holds a smile on his face as he performs the practices of the festival. This includes offering his wife water, thus breaking her fast.

What is this 'anomalistic' marriage all about? How is it that a beautiful woman is all smiles and happy being married to a little boy? Lots of questions whose answers are awaited.

What's Good?

In a mere span of 30 seconds, we are treated with the sheer grandeur of Rajasthan, which includes palatial edifices that are lit in the night settings. Royalty and magnificence are fantastically portrayed during the span.

The music and background score along with the title track being played is a treat for the ears as it makes you travel to the folk setting of the state and it is amazing.

Tejasswi looks absolutely gorgeous as the young and innocent looking bride. And, the fact that her character is all smiles and 'accepting' towards having a little kid as her husband adds the element of mystery and makes you feel perplexed.

What's Not-So-Good?

Amidst the royal setting, as soon as the kid is introduced as the 'husband', many may find it to be something they have seen before. We have seen a lot of 'tabooed' concepts and endured 8 years of 'Balika Vadhu', and with this, one may feel this concept to come across as an 'oh, no...not again!'. Having said that, a benefit has to be given to the show for presenting a different storyline.

The Verdict

Apart from the show marking Tejasswi's return, the scale of it seems the perfect complement, making it one of the most awaited shows of the year. To witness a different storyline on a royal setting is a treat, and the approach is absolutely amazing

Sony TV's 'Pehredaar Piya Ki' has been in the news ever since the promos of the show went on air. The show is a one of its kind love story and will showcase the love story between an 18-year-old girl (Tejasswi Prakash Wayangankar) and a 10-year-old boy (Afaan Khan).

With this show, we are sure to witness another path-breaking storyline.

As far as the cast is concerned, there already have been reports about prominent names like Jiten Lalwani, Parmeet Sethi and Kishori Sahane among others, being roped in for the show.

Now, according to an entertainment portal, 'Diya Aur Baati Hum fame', Varunn Jain who played the role of Mohit in the show, has been roped in for the show and he will play a family member to the male lead.

We contacted the actor, and he confirmed the news. He said, "I will be playing the cousin (The male lead's father's sister's son). My character will be very short tempered and straightforward."

Also, Juhi Aslam (Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo) has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the show. However, her character is yet to be known.

They are yet to begin shooting for the show. Tentatively, they will start shooting from the second week of May.
