About your query...as I mentioned in the footnote, to my mind, SwaSan are soulmates, and therefore have a very special bond. During the time when they were both in coma, close to death in the same hospital, they had only their soulmate for love, warmth, companionship and comfort, in that limbo they were both stuck in.

I have narrated some of the special memories Swara had of their time together...which, for her, was the reality on those months. As far as I think, these 'memories' are actually visions of their happy life together on the future, which was flashing through both their minds when they were unconscious.

If you notice, there is a para in the story which talks about Swara recalling how immensely attracted and drawn to Sunny she felt, right at their first meeting (this was one of the visions during their coma of course). So they 'met' during the very early stage of their coma.
