AMOR SEMPITERNUS

Mere Sanam Teri Kasam Chodenge Ab Na Ye Hath

Ye Zindagi Gujregi Ab Hamdam Tumhare Hi Sath

"Sanskar, leave my hand...let me go...please" Swara said emotionlessly to Sanskar, while trying to remove his grip on her wrist. Her eyes being fixed at ground, made it visible that she was avoiding looking into his.

"No Swara...I am not going to leave you alone when you need me the most" Sanskar told firmly to Swara not softening his grip over her. Sanskar put his other hand over her, stopping her from struggling more.

Swara glanced at him turning back and her eyes witnessed his more than ever determined face. Sanskar could easily see the tears she was trying hard to hold back. Sanskar could easily see, Swara being on the verge of breaking down. Losing herself there, at that point of time, in front of him, was the last thing she wanted to do.

Something broke inside him seeing her...his love in that devastated state.

Swara looked at him, with pleading eyes silently urging him to let her go. It was getting harder for her with each minute, trying not to fall apart there.

Sanskar tightened his hold on her wrist and he made his way outside of his home with her. Swara quietly followed him without arguing much.

Reaching near the car, Sanskar opened door for Swara and made her sit inside the car. Rushing to other side, he himself got in and drove the car away.

It had been almost half an hour, since Sanskar was driving. Absolute silence was ringing in the car.

Sanskar was glancing at her frequently checking up for her every movement but she hardly was doing any. Her sitting figure with her right hand resting on her seat and her eyes fixed out of window was a clear indication of the fact that she had not wanted to have a conversation.

Swara was brought back to reality by feeling Sanskar's touch over her hand. She wiped the tears which were rolling down her cheeks without her acknowledgement but kept looking outside only.

After almost driving for 45 minutes, the car was halted. Swara looked around, they were at the farmhouse. Getting down from the car, Sanskar opened Swara's door helping her to come out holding her hand.

They walked inside with their hands entwined in each other's. Sanskar's hold over her hand was a symbol of his unconditional love and support for her. It was a symbol that no matter what, he would never leave her hand; he would never let her go away from him, even if she herself wants to.

Sanskar took her to the garden, backside of their farmhouse.

Pulling her near the swing kept there, he said, "You remember this place Swara? This is the place we confessed our love for each other for the first time"

Making her sit on the swing, Sanskar went back side of the swing to sway her. Carefully pushing the swing ahead slowly, he said, "You know Swara before we got married; we used to be here like this...you used to love being here, on this swing, with ME" His emotions were the ones speaking more than him.

He walked towards her stopping the swing. Kneeling down in front of her, he took her both palms in his hands. He could read what was going into her mind. Looking into her eyes, Sanskar spoke in a soft voice, "Swara, look into my eyes and tell me what you see?"

Swara lifted her eyes meeting his.

"Pyaar" her heart said without waiting for her brain to respond. Sanskar smiled hearing her answer as if he knew she could say nothing except that.

Swara immediately lowered her gaze realising what she said. Her mind was in a twirl battling in between her heart and her brain.

"See Swara, your heart knows who am I...and its more than enough for me...it doesn't matter to me if your eyes and brain remembers me or not...no matter what anyone else says or does, I will never leave your hand...I will never leave you alone even if you yourself asks me to...I love you Swara and I know you love me more than anyone else...more than anything else" His voice was filled with tenderness.

Sanskar stopped talking as he found Swara staring at him. An unknown fear appeared over Swara's face without her acknowledgement.

He continued, "I know Swara, it's not easy...mere liye bhi nahi tha...when I got to know this."

Sanskar's face turned quite serious the soon he remembered the time when he got to know about Swara's memory loss, she being suffering from partial amnesia. He was literally broken the moment he heard doctor saying she has forgotten the time she has spent with him. For him, his world stopped at that moment when he was told that she no longer remembers him or their marriage. But he didn't give up. He couldn't give up. How could he? She was the only one he was breathing for. She was the only one he was alive for her. His life was only and only hers. She was the heartbeat, his heart was beating because of.

She just embraced him putting her all weight over him as if her life was dependent only on him. Sanskar immediately hugged her back encircling his arms around her taking her in his protective embrace.

Sanskar could feel his T-shirt getting wet by Swara's silent crying. Pulling her out of the hug, Sanskar wiped her tears and said, "Why are crying sweetheart?"

"Why do you love me so much Sanskar? Here you are...who is not ready to leave me when I myself am asking you to...and here am I...I don't remember anything...any damn thing...you don't deserve me Sanskar...you deserve someone better." Swara shouted terribly clutching her head tightly in frustration of forgetting the most important part, the most important phase of her life.

Sanskar held her face pulling her hands down from her head. He kissed her forehead letting her know she does not have to blame herself.

"Shh...relax Swara...don't stress yourself...it's not good for your health...I dont have any reason for loving you Swara...Love don't need any reason...that's why love is selfless Swara...

And dare you again say anything again like that...I will not tolerate it...

I am breathing because you are with me...You are my heartbeat...you are the fragrance in my life...you are the colour in my life...you and only you mean love to me...you are the complete universe I ever wished to live within...I cannot even bear the thought of being away from you Swara...I am here because you are...Swara hai to Sanskar hai warna nahi!!!..."

Swara was kind of lost in the magical world Sanskar created with his each word! No doubt he was way too good when it came to be vocal about his feelings for her. It was not like he used to be like that from start. But Swara's arrival in his life had brought out a complete different person in him. She made him wanted to be a better person. She brought out the brighter one in him whom he had lost in darkness of his hatred.

She could feel something in her stomach after hearing his sacred confession. She could not deny, she felt everything he said absolutely heavenly.

"And rahi baat mom ki...to please don't take it to your heart what she said Swara...she really loves you...she just uttered those words being concerned for me...she didn't mean them ...really" Sanskar told Swara assuring her about Sujata's intentions.

FLASHBACK:

"Chori thare ko yaad hai, Sanskar ko thare hath ka bana hua Palak Panir kitna pasand hai...aur tujhe uske liye banana" Sujata was trying her best from past fifteen days since Swara had returned home from hospital to remind her of her forgotten past. Sujata who once used to dislike Swara for her being a Bengali, had fully accepted Swara as her daughter in law from the bottom of her heart since the time she had realised the purity of Swara's soul.

Swara who was hardly getting any flashes of her being with Sanskar couldn't remember anything which Sujata was saying. Swara nodded negatively with a forced smile.

"Ese kaise tu sab bhul gayi chori? Na...mai tujhe jimedar na thehra rahi hu...lekin..." Sujata spit up unable to help herself, not being able to accept the fact that Swara had forgotten her every moment with them.

Swara's face fell due to guilt. Sujata caressed her hairs feeling bad for Swara saying, "Koi bat na chori...sab thik ho javega...tu chinta na kar...chal ab tu palak panir bana"

Swara nodded with a faint smile and she started making Palak Panir.

Swara served Palak panir to Sanskar on the dining table. Sanskar's eyes shined in happiness seeing his favourite palak panir made by Swara.

He smiled at Swara who too returned a faint smile to him. Sanskar took a bite and before he could say it was amazing, he started coughing badly.

Swara immediately gave him water. Sanskar tried to drink some water but started coughing more. Swara rubbed his back.

"Ye tune ke kiya chori? Tune isme Rai dali thi ke? Sanskar ko rai se allergy hai...khasne lag jata hai mhara chora...tu ye bhi bhool gayi?...Jiji mai to kehti hu agar esa hi chalta raha to mhare chore ke jaan pe ban aa jaegi" Sujata said worriedly not realising the impact of her words imprinted over Swara's heart and mind.

Swara's legs trembled in fear realising what could have happen because of her. Sanskar turned back and found Swara standing there in extreme guilt and fear.

"Mom...please...kuch nahi hua" Sanskar said loudly to Sujata.

Unable to take it more, Swara rushed outside of MM.

"Mhara wo matlab na tha Sanskar..." Sujata spoke in low tone regretting over her words.

Sanskar ran behind Swara who was walking hurriedly outside. Sanskar called her many times but she didn't dare to stop or to even turn back to him.

Catching her speed, Sanskar finally stopped her holding her hand.

FLASHBACK ENDS:

"No Sanskar. I am not upset because of Mom's words...but it is MY fault...I would never forgive myself if anything would happen to you...and that too because of ME" Swara told him that it was actually him what was bothering to her and not Sujata's words.

Sanskar smiled to see his caring and loving Swara again in front of him. That Swara, who would fight the world for him...That Swara, who would do anything for his safety...

She was scared...scared of losing him. She wanted to be away from him...because she was thinking she could be a threat for him and his life.

Though, her mind failed to remember Sanskar and his love for her, but she still could not bear in her wildest dream of something happening to Sanskar. It was nothing but terribly scary for her.

Holding her, Sanskar walked inside the farmhouse with her making their way towards a room. Sanskar asked Swara to close her eyes. She looked at him in confusion. "Trust me and do as I say" Sanskar told her.

She closed her eyes and Sanskar took her inside the room. Walking a little further, Sanskar asked her to open her eyes.

Opening her eyes slowly, Swara roamed her gaze all over the room. Surprise and shock would be an understatement to describe her state that time.

The complete room was decorated with their pictures together. Taking steps towards the wall; their pictures were hanging on, Swara touched them with her fingers. She was astonished to see their so many beautiful moments together framed underneath the photoframes. She couldn't remember any of those moments but she could see how happy she looked in those moments captured in cameras with Sanskar.

"See this" Sanskar forwared a guitar in his hand. Swara took the guitar from him. Her gaze roamed over it trying to remember something if she could. Her fingers ran all over the guitar examining it. Her eyes stopped at a place where something was written there.

"SWASAN" she uttered lifting her eyes at Sanskar in confusion.

There he was! Standing with a smile on his face which used to be always whenever she used to take the name! SWASAN! Just like them, their names were one!

"SWASAN...Swara and Sanskar...you know it was you, who made this one name out of our two...and this guitar, is the symbol of it." Sanskar said taking the guitar, staring at it. He definitely had his best memories with Swara along with that guitar.

A lone tear escaped from her eyes when she tried to recollect whatever he was saying but unfortunately she could not. She fell down on her knees with nothing except guilt and pain in her eyes, of not remembering him, of not remembering them, of not remembering their memories. Hiding her face in her palms, her sobs echoed in the room.

Sanskar kept the guitar in his hand on the bed. Only he knew what he was going through every moment when he saw her like that.

He immediately went on the ground, beside her. He took out her palms softly from her face and wiped the tears her eyes were shedding.

She slipped on his chest, holding his shirt in her fist crying her heart out. He just kept his hands around her, without saying anything, letting her to cry as much as she wanted to but at the same time he was there to make sure she would not lose herself in that process.

"Mujhe sab yaad karna hai Sanskar. I want to remember everything" she told him getting off his chest.

His eyes shined with a thin layer of tears the moment he heard her.

"Lekin mujhe kuch yaad nahi aa raha" she shouted clutching her head.

"Shh" he stopped her taking her hands off her head. His lips touched the back of her palm. Sanskar spoke looking into her eyes, "Chalo ham milkar nayi yaade banate hai Swara! I can't promise to make you remember everything but I promise we will create our new life and that will be magical! Let's start from the start Swara and we will craft our new memories...more beautiful than our previous ones!!!"

"Hi! I am Sanskar...Sanskar Maheshwari and you?" Sanskar said forwarding his hand towards her.

Smiling through her tears, she gave her hand in his and said, "Swara"

"Seems like something beautiful has started" he said holding her hand tighter. She looked at him quite confounded and in little amusement but soon her face glowed with delicate and pleasant smile bringing his long lost smile back over his too.

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close. The hug was a simple enough gesture - affection, perhaps the fragile beginning of love. She snuggled more into his arms slipping in his comforting embrace. Their love was too pure and sacred to get defeated by the cruel games of destiny.

IT'S NOT THE END BUT A START OF A BEAUTIFUL RELATIONSHIP

Off to read now😊

Dear Harshada,

As usual, a very lovely story. It had a such a soft and wonderful feel to it - Swara despite not remembering yet knowing of her deep love for Sanskaar and her complete trust in him and his love for her. You brought out her confusion and her frustration - she knows that they love each other and is sad that she cannot remember the beauty of such a love.

Sanskaar - well, just what does one say. His love and patience are beyond words. He knows her so well that he just know what exactly he has to say or do to calm her. As long as she believed him and his love, he can fight any battle.

The ending or rather as you said, the beginning was amazing - it is indeed the start of another new friendship, another new relationship which would result in even more remarkable memories.

Their love is indeed eternal.

love,

Very nicely written, Harshu dear šŸ¤—šŸ¤—

Liked the play on the ML track. The way you had portrayed Swara's distress and anguish at being unable to remember any of those precious memories, was very well done. The best part was the wonderful trust and faith between SwaSan. Though Swara can't really recall the love she felt for him, she feels so comforted, so reassured by his presence, his faith in her.

And Sanskaar is absolutely, irrevocably in love with his wife. 😊 Liked the bit where he says they can build new memories together. That's what is so meaningful in their relationship after all...that they have come through thick and thin, surmounted so many obstacles, and all the time, building so many beautiful moments together.

Nice done, sweetheart. šŸ¤—

Lots of Love

Another beautiful piece Harshada :)
A beautiful take on ML which is written beautifully!
Swara's confusions, anguish, pains, frustrations at forgetting a huge chunk of her life which was so important & now not able to remember those precious moments! Nicely done!
Sanskaar - Well what can I say about this guy? Or more accurately his love, adoration, care, trust, devotion for Swara? No words are enough to describe these! You have to just feel & you did an amazing job by making us able to feel Sanskaar's almost exact emotions!
The last part was so so so beautiful & so poignant!
Sanskaar's trust on Swara & Swara's love knowing even that she don't remember anything Bt still she can't tolerate any harm upon Sanskaar!
Swara's trust on Sanskaar's trust along with Sanskaar & Sanskaar's love which she can clearly see & feel!
And then the most beautiful part when Sanskaar promised a new beginning, making new memories more beautiful than previous ones!
Their new beginning of a new life!
Together! Hand in hand!
With each other! For each other! Bcoz of each other!
And that's SWASAN!
Swara & Sanskaar melting beautifully together!
And indeed it was not the ENDING, it was the BEGINNING!
Awesome work Harshada :)
Keep writing more & keep sharing with us!
Lots of love & hugs for you :)
