Dear Creatives and the Production team,
I know you may find it hard to believe, but some of us watch Swaragini just for Lakshya, Ragini and their story. We believe that Tejaswi and Namish are amazing as Ragini and Lakshya, and they have beautiful, stunning, natural chemistry. Honestly, it's once in a blue moon that you come across a pair of actors with such natural affinity for each other and such a sparkling vibe, and they've consistently made RagLak look amazingly beautiful as a couple.
And this is despite the fact that Ragini and Lakshya's characters were dragged through the mud in the show so mercilessly. Ragini's redemption track began in the show recently, and honestly, as a viewer and Ragini fan, I have little to complain in terms of the manner that redemption was shown. Ragini's redemption sparked some awareness on Lakshya's part as well, which brings me to the purpose of this letter.
Why not let that spark develop into a full-fledged fire, by fanning the flame of their relationship with friendship, trust and love, slowly? You know, like a natural progression, a slowburn. Honestly, the way the RagYa story commenced gave me so many hopes for them, for an intense, beautiful love story that would build-up over time. This storyline has so much potential - I'm just requesting you to let it progress naturally, slowly. After all, what's the rush?
And its not like you don't see this potential - otherwise, we wouldn't have gotten such amazingly beautiful scenes during Lakshya;s incarceration in prison and today, after Ragini got stabbed. I mean...the way she tried to reach for her Lakshya even after getting hurt, and the way she held on to his face and promised him that she'd never let him go, no matter what and then Lakshya's desperation to see his Ragini alive and well...as a RagLak fan, I can only thank you for these scenes.
But my enjoyment of these beautiful moments was spoilt when I saw the spoilers of Ragini and Lakshya's wedding which is going to air soon apparently. If this is a wedding forced by certain circumstances - then I cannot comment. But if it's a normal, happy wedding like it's looking in the promos, then I have just one question - what's the hurry? If they have to get there in any case, then why not take the longer, more picturesque route that'll be more fun for everyone involved ? More material for the production and creative team, more scope for the actors to perform, and definitely more happiness for the fans concerned.
Why can't we get more of a build-up - Ragini healing and learning to stand up for herself and on her own two feet, Lakshya (although he'll always be a brat and a child) learning to grow up a little and understanding the meaning of commitment (more than love), marriage and trust ? Why not give them a decently paced track, where they learn more about themselves and each other and get to do all those things that they've never gotten to do so far in their tumultuous relationship?
I'm not asking for dates and candyfloss - I realize that the way RagLak have been written, and with all that they've gone through, these things would be too pedestrian for them. But just a little time you know? Ragini got stabbed today - in the real world, she would've spent at least a couple of days in the hospital (if not more), even if it was a flesh wound. We could've had Lakshya waiting desperately for her to get better, praying for her, remembering their marriage and all the happy and sad times. But instead, Ragini was bundled off home super quickly, and Lakshya will be trying to convince everyone to let her marry him tomorrow. She's gone through so much, at least give her body the time to heal, if not her mind and soul.
And I realize that Ragini loves Lakshya beyond all reason. But does that necessarily mean that she can trust him so soon, after everything he did to rip her apart? Is it wrong to expect her to take some time to trust (if not forgive) Lakshya again, because while love may be everlasting, it's very easy to shatter someone's trust, and once shattered, those cracks take a long time to heal, if they ever do, that is.
Like Namish said in an interview, Ragini's love for Lakshya has remained the one constant in this show - through everything. Through myriad plots and sub-plots, complete character, couple and storyline changes, through everything. Doesn't a love like that - this show's original love story, deserve an amazing development and fruition? We've waited this long, and we're willing to wait a little more. Please don't drop the ball now, not after coming so far.
Rgaini and Lakshya barely need to be in a frame together to make a scene beautiful, their chemistry is that tangible and that intimate. They don't need beautiful costumes or locations as aids or props, all they need is a little love and a little careful handling. And that's all we're asking for, as RagLak fans.
I still have some hope - from the amazing scenes you've shown us in jail and during the Holika dehan and then after the stabbing today. I really hope that after this beautiful beginning, we don't get something rushed and half-baked and convoluted. Here's hoping for a beautiful, built-up track and a lovely wedding.
Yours,
a RagLak fan
