i have observed that silent/shy/underconfident ones..the ones who aren't firecrackers are seldom favorites with the IF members, are found boring..gunjan from mjht, ragini from this show..and while i see the appeal of characters like swara i also like characters like ragini..the old ragini..who couldn't go against her grandmom,peaceful,introverted..this new positive ragini seems to be a mere shell of the old one..but the old one had endearing traits and yet room for character development..such characters have such room for development!..and while gunjan from mjht developed,i doubt ragini will be given a chance..and these characters when speak up shock everybody..like that scene of ragini gadodia accepting swara bose as her sister in front of entire marwaadi and bengali samaaj.

she was so perfectly maternal toward the insane sanskaar..handled him in a pretty great manner..and her facial expression to show anger while demanding the pistol back from sanskaar..so cute.

also, that scene where ragini asks swara if her wishing for laksh in her life along with her parents made her selfish and swara says that no she was strong rather than selfish..and then ragini crying looking at laksh again..sometimes tejaswi herself lifts the character up..even if the scene is a cliche..

while i started liking ragini/ragya during her negative mode it would have been nice to see ragini never turning negative and growing with her positivity intact..that chance exists now too..but not much hopes..

I haven't watched the show b4 when rags are proper +. Bt I have seen a few scenes from vms and she looked cute and adorable. Bt watching this ragini she looks meek, cnt speak up for herself. It seems like she is probably guilt ridden over her action hence the meekness bt this hasn't been shown to the audience all we see is rags the sister who loves her sister and no more. I feel bad for Tej is this the sort of + character that she wanted to leave for. She was actually better - more screen time and better acting. Now her scenes are just repetitive. I dnt think any1 should expect anything from her character though dnt think she will be given the screen time or character development.

@bold first of all dont compare gunjan and ragini - they are way too different 😆
as far as your post is concerned - see ragini is not disliked because she is boring or introvert - if u remember she was liked when she was good (actually i also liked her as a negative character because she was scary😆)
the problem is ragini turned negative and so negative that now when she is not negative people are finding it difficult to just accept it and move on (i will blame teju's amazing acting here👏)

yes i do agree that cvs are not letting her character develop - for eg when shekhar was angry with swara it would have been wonderful to see if she would have convinced shekhar that he is being unfair towards swara - its was a great opportunity for cvs to convince the audience that ragini is not negative anymore and they missed it

Yeah I know what you mean...apparently its the lot of the shy, sensitive ones in life to suffer.

And its not just in reel life...in real life as well, such ppl are looked over as wallflowers as compared to the brash and outspoken kind of ppl, who are perceived as cool and awesome.

I've always loved Ragini's tenderness and gentleness...and now with all that she's done and learnt and gone thru, that tenderness and gentleness has been tempered by steel. I really hope they let her character flourish properly, and don't dismiss her as a meek and weak creature. Being quiet or shy has nothing to do with inner resolve and strength...I really hope Ragini's character is allowed to come into its own.

@sandiab - yes this ragini is..well she actually has not even been enough screen time to form an opinion but the old positive ragini seems to have had more than meekness to herself..i haven't watched many episodes of that ragini either but the 2-3 scenes i mentioned..specially the way she handled sanskaar..that was nice.
Negative rags did give tejaswi scope to perform but i am not sure if the old positive ragini absolutely did not..like i said haven't watched many episodes.

@luvuakanksha - how are ragini and gunjan way too different?..both shy,the good girls of the family, not the bubbly and firecracker kinds..i am of course talking about the ragini of the initial episodes here..even when i say that such characters are seldom liked i am talking of that ragini..i went through some 2-3 old posts of this forum and it seemed like she was found too naive/boring etc etc..

@starshinehues - yes..happens in real life too..am painfully awkward and shy and speak really less so am asked to grow a personality 😆
ragini's gentleness and tenderness..exactly what she was while while handling sanskaar..
when this show wasn't so swara centric ragini WAS potrayed as someone with potential to be strong..but those times have gone and ragini probably won-t ever get the same attention again..i think making this show swara centric has affected swara's character too..those typical detective and mahaan like traits have been added to her character..

gunjan always stood for what is right when sheena entered in samrat's life just revisit the show and see her reaction, she concentrated on her studies and wanted to become something in life. yes she was obedient never spoke out of turn like ragini but still gave fitting replies when it was necessary. both swaragani and gunjan nupur were good girls of the family but ragini flipped.

Yeah I agree...one of the major pitfalls of making Swara the centre of everything is that she's fast becoming one of those characters who can never do any wrong...the preachy and holier than thou kinds. There is a difference between being fiesty and being preachy and there's a very thin line separating the two. I really hope they don't stray too far into that direction...I would prefer to see a human, relatable lead as opposed to an all-knowing krantikaari kind.

also sorry but FYI gunjan and nupur always fought each other's battle nupur stood up for gunjan during sheena regime and gunjan helped nupur to reunite with mayank when they had a major fight and mayank was going, also gunjan left samrat for her sis which i dont think ragini can ever do for swara

The OP is talking about the initial days' Ragini, tho. Ragini broke her engagement with Laksh because of the humiliation her family and Swara had to face.

@Bold We can always bring out the point when Ragini tried to help SwaSan when Swara was in jail.

Gunjan and starting episodes' Ragini are defo very similar especially in the manner they behave with others. Ragini was shy, collected yet always had the courage to speak up when it came to her family. She never once thought bad about Sarmishtha even when she was getting manipulated by Daadi and never really supported Daadi with the way she used to behave towards Shoumi.

Ragini would have been a really good character had CVs not butchered her in order to advance their ratings. She can actually stand as a character without needing a male lead in order for her to appeal to the audience, imo.
