Part 4

Late at night Ragini was in her room sitting next to the window tears on her face, she was thinking how she saw Laksh her ex-husband who was her life and obsession once. The word Ex did hurt her she never thought that one day she would be calling her husband a ex all her life she thought marriage was forever and she will do everything to make her marriage work.

She wanted to stay with her husband his family and be a good wife and a daughter in law. How she failed and it made her angry at herself, she tried too hard, she shouldn't have let people tell her what to do she should have made her own decisions. If only she did, she wouldn't be here crying her heart out for someone who ripped her in pieces and can never be put together again, you cannot mend something that is broken,

When she saw both her old families today she wanted to run to them hug them and talk to them but she couldn't, she had to stop herself she didn't want to let herself feel vulnerable, helpless and hopeless again she had made a decision to leave away from them and she will, it might be hard because they are right in front of her but she will have to try harder.

She sat there till late thinking about the old times, but then she realised how they all made her become the evil woman she got up and went to bed to sleep but when she closed her eyes all she should see was her family and Laksh, why is it that she cannot forget them even when she tries to, why did they have to come back in her world she was happy now they came and now she has to put a ring around herself to protect herself.

Laksh, was in his room thinking about Ragini, how she has changed, she looks good stunning angelic, she is smart, Confident, intelliegent which she never was before and it was great to see, she was genuine, caring and lovely like she was in the beginning. The fact that she was too innocent and obedient she didn't like that about her but now he misses the quality in her. He has a bitter smile on his face when she was incconet and bdient he didn't want her and now that she has changed he wants her to be like that, it's true we do not value something when we have it but when it's not there anymore we want that. Life is a mystery and more we live the more mysterious it gets.

Laksh is looking at the moon and thinks how many times he saw Ragini standing near the window and use to look at the moon, now he wishes he could talked to her, asked her what she was looking at, why she was looking at moon. Why is he thinking of her so much since she left. He never gave the attention, care, love and respect she wanted from him when she was here with him.

Now that she is gone he sits in his room and thinks about what he should have done and what he shouldn't have done. He was always impulsive, a quality he doesn't like but can you do old habits die hard. He wished he didn't do what he did to Ragini cheated just for the property , he is ashamed of what he did, he didn't think like always and just went ahead at the time he thought he was doing what was right but now he knows better.

After Ragini left, he was shocked and surprised he didn't think that she would leave him that easy, he didn't get the divorce papers because he knew she wouldn't leave him and go. When she gave him the papers he realised she actually wanted him to be happy and move on in life.

How could he move on his life has been such a ride that it is hard to move on now. The girl he thought he love didn't love him but love his brother, the girl who loved him with his her and soul he didn't realise her love till it was too late. When Ragini ever forgive him for what he did. Ragini did terrible things but what he did was a sin. He can't forgive himself so how can he expect Ragini to forgive him.

He remembers how his family including Swara, Sanskar stopped talked to him when Ragini left the house, him and them all. When everyone found out what he did to get the property they were all disgusted at him how could he do AP and DP were ashamed to call him their son, but eventually everyone started talking to him and tried to move on.

Things have changed in their life in 4 months, he started to take responsibilities towards family, friends and business. Hence he was at the fund raising event, he wants to make a change in any little way he can. When he found out about the cause he wanted to be there and help because he did a grave sin and he wanted to do something which might help lessen his guilt a little if possible. The woman he felt guilt about was the one he saw how life gives us shocks and jolts us back to reality.

He knows he has to meet Ragini, try to talk to her and at least ask for her forgiveness he knows she won't forgive him but at least he can try, he also wants to prove to her that she has changed and is a better person now.

After 2 weeks everything was normal in Ragini's life, she was working, playing with Angel, spending time with famil, friends and colleagues. She was in her office one of the admin girls came told her about a meeting the next day with a Mr Laksh Maheswari after lunch and both Rahul and Ram wanted her to be in the meeting. She was surprised but wasn't shocked, because she knew Laksh would come to see her and whats the big deal she has to talk to him one day it might as well be now.

Next day the hospital was busy patient, cients etc it was busy. It was 12:30 Ragini to eat something quickly before her meeting with Laksh, she was hoping Rahul and Ram would be there with her.

14:00 Laksh was sitting in a big conference room, he was waiting for Ragini, he was nervous yet excited to see her again. Rohan walked in first and greeted Laksh and sat down.

Rohan: thank you Mr Maheswari for coming, it's nice to know that great business men like you want to help this cause. Ragini should be here soon, she is finishing some paper work. Shall we start?

Laksh: yeah sure he smiles at Rohan, but kept looking at the door hoping Ragini would come soon.

15 minutes later, Ragini was outside the room, taking deep breaths and telling herself to be the new Ragini not the one Laksh knew, she put a smile on her face and walked in.

Laksh looked at her, she was wearing white shirt, knee length black pencil skit, her hair was in a bun, she had small earrings on her ears, a small chain on her neck and a watch on her hand. She was carrying a file in her hand, note book and a pen. She took his breath away, she looked stunning.

Ragini came, went and sat next to Rohan and smiled at him.

Ragini: sorry I'm late Rohan just got caught on something

Rohan: it's okay Ragini, I know how hard you work, me and Mr Maheswari were discusses few things, I hope I didn't bore him to death and he smile at them both

Ragini: Rohan no-one would be bored if you are with them.

Laksh was looking at them talking and he was surpised to see how comfortable Ragini was with Rohan, she never use to talk to him like that before never mind other men. He was feeling uneasy he didn't like it when Ragini was smiling and talking to Rohan. He didn't like how close she was sitting next to him.

Ragini: Mr Maheswari thank you for coming, sorry papa and Rahul baiya are busy so I hope you don't mind you will have to go on with this meeting. So why do you want to get involved in this project? Why is it important to you?

Laksh: it's okay Ragini, I can call you Ragini right?

Ragini: yeah sure, Mr Maheswari

Laksh: you can call me Laksh

Ragini: I think it's best I call you Mr Maheswari being professional is good. Laksh looked hurt but tried to hide it, but Ragini didn't miss the split second pain on his face.

Laksh: okay, your choice, he looked straight into her eyes and says I want to get involved because I want to help woman, become better, confident, smart, change their lives around forget their old life. Give them a chance to do their own thing, make their own decisions, give them hope and the courage they need, I am sure you know what I mean.

Ragini: lookedat him she knows what he is saying, yes of course I do Mr Maheswari.

The meeting went on for about an hour, it was time to finish up, Rohan got a call he was needed, he told Ragini to finish the meeting and see Laksh out. Ragini said okay and Rohan left.

Ragini: so Mr Maheswari I think we are done, thank you for your time, I will show you out.

She got up, Laksh was still sitting down and looking at her, he was alone with her and he didn't know where to start, what to say or what to do.

Laksh: Ragini why are you being so cold.

Ragini laughed, sorry I am being cold how?

Laksh: I know I hurt you Ragini and I don't deserve forgiveness but please don't be like this?

Ragini: like what Mr Maheswari?

Laksh: please stop with Mr Maheswari.

Ragini: Why and how can I you are a client now?

Laksh: because every time you say Mr Maheswari it hurts, and I am a client now, I am your husband.

Ragini: it hurts, I am sorry I didn't know you had a heart, husband you WERE my husband I gave you the divorces papers, we are not married anymore.

Laksh: if I didn't have a heart I wouldn't be feeling this pain, I wouldn't be missing you, I wouldn't be here to talk to you, to see you, to hear you talk.

Ragini: laughed okay enough now let's go, your game is not going to fool me again. Wasn't it enough playing with me before that you want to play with me again, let me tell you something Mr ex husband, this Ragini in front of you is not the same Ragini who left you, your house, your property and you family 4 months ago. She died when you betrayed her, when you used her, when you wanted to throw her out of your house and your life.

Laksh came forward held her arms, she flinched and stopped talking, he looked at her why did she flinch, why was she feeling uncomfortable to be around him, why was she not looking at him, why was she struggling to get of his hold. There was a time she would have done anything to be close to him, to be help by him, to spend time with him, be at his presence, then why is it different. ]

Ragini jerked his hands off her, walked to the end of the room and told him to get out. She didn't want him to come near her again not after what he did. He scared her for life, she cannot let no men come close to her except, Ram, Rahul and Rohan because they were her family and it took ages to get close to them without being terrified. Laksh looked at her once last time ad left.
