Saku...Lakshya is pretending about his memory loss isn't he? That vile toad...🤢
Un-Res...
Saku, its uncanny how many similar tastes we have. I am seriously thinking we must have been sisters in some past life. 😆 We already had the Mahabharata and Natural history/ ecology. And of course, Indian history--the Guptas, the Mauryas and so on. And now with you delving a bit into Graeco-Roman mythos, that's another common area of interest. 😊 Tell me, Saku, are you a fan of Egyptian history as well? Ramesses the Great, Pharaoh Thutmose and so on? If that is of interest to you too, then, Sis, there is no doubt at all that we are soul sisters connected through ether (and the internet). 😆 😛 Plus, coincidentally, I am exploring some parallels to Gandhari, in "Karna Parva--Day 17" and your chapter 3 also has Gandhari references! 😊
Can I just give you a 👏 👏 for the imaginative chapter titles you have. "Memories of Winter" reminded me of "Memories of Midnight" by the great Sidney Sheldon---very apt, since I consider you the Sheldon of our forum.
And "Of Mars, Athena and Ares"...Spellbinding! 😊
So Vasundara is coming no holds barred, weaving her conniving, Machiavellian web like a giant spider. She told her son in the previous chapter that she much prefers peace to war, but ironically, peace loving people often find themselves at the center of conflict. Seems rather self serving and delusional to me. She may like the idea of peace all right, but its peace on her terms. She would love to rule over a suppressed kingdom, in thrall to the mighty Empress Vasundara, all dissent, rivalry or opposition having been throttled! And a fine example of a peace lover she is---playing really, really dirty! 😡
Saku, you hold all the trumps of course, and will slowly reveal your hand with your customary flourish. But if I may make a guess, that vile amphibian is pretending to have short term memory loss. 🤢 Man, what a contemptible tactic to come between Sanskaar and Swara. When will this spoilt brat grow up and decide to take some ownership for his own actions? Deserting Swara, mistrusting her, maligning her should all be automatically forgiven once he says sorry? And not just forgiven (which he probably is), but Swara should go back to loving him and wanting to re enter his life? Pray, why? And to do this when she is already married to Sanskaar, and is his bhabhi, his first cousin's wife!! I just can't put into words what I feel for this guy. Nauseating. 🤢
Kavita...or Kavita's twin sister? Or a look alike? My guess is, since she was in hospital, has Vasundara arranged for plastic surgery to be done on someone to look like her? Wonder how Sanskaar is going to react. He is going to feel a lot of guilt, his residual nightmares of Kavita's death indicate that the wound is still raw, though steadily healing. Hope these devious knights aren't going to wrench it open and make him bleed again.
The Swara---Sanskaar interaction at the beginning was so deep, so romantic, so tender. The tinge of foreboding Swara had, about the beautiful fragility of the dream she has of a life with him; her earnest seeking of assurance that he would never leave her side again---that was so very moving. Sanskaar has promised her his fealty and love---I am going to hold on to that! 😊
I will end with my customary wish which I make for this season---May the balmy sun and breeze of spring clear away the lingering chill of winter!!
Love you for giving me this title of "Winter Lady". I shall try to wear the honor as best as I can. 😃
