Laksh's pov::
Never in my life I had been so excited to attend the college and know my marks. It was a different kind of happiness. I got ready and came down.
Dp-" kahi jaa rahe ho laksh"?
Laksh- " yes dad college "
Dp- " itni jaldi? "
Laksh- " ji dad aaj college me kal ke marks pta challenge"
Dp- " oh achha thik hai jao mujhe bhi btana apne marks"
Laksh goes out. Annapurna comes from the kitchen.
Ap- " laksh kaha gaya"?
Dp- " college gaya hai. Kal koi test hua tha uske marks ke liye. Tumhe kya lagta hai Annapurna jitna wo khush tha uske 25 number to aa hi jayenge"
Ap- " aap bhi naa wo bohot khush tha zarur usne padai ki hogi"
I reached the classroom and instantly looked at ragini's seat. It was empty." Shayad late ho gayi hogi".
Ragini's pov::
I had spent the entire night crying and walking. I couldn't sleep. Life can't be so cruel!!
How could this happen to me?
A day ago I was happy cheerfully concentrating on my studies and today!! Everything changed so fast. I looked at the clock. It was 6. But unlike getting up and running to get ready I continued sitting on the bed. Dadi came inside.
Dadi- " aaj to badi jaldi uth gayi maari laado"
Ragini -" hum soye hi kaha the? "
Dadi turned and looked at me. She came and sat down.
Dadi- " laado mai samjhu hu ke maara faisla tujhe aaj galat lag raha hai par mai ye thaari bhalai ke liye kar rahi hu"
Ragini -" daadi maa hum jante hai par hame shaadi nahi karni.
Dadi- " laado shaadi to har ladki ko karni pade hai. Chal tu taiyaar ho ja"
Ragini -" nahi dadi maa hamara aaj jaane ka dil nahi hai "
She turned and looked at me but didn't say anything.
Laksh's pov::
It was beyond time. Maybe she wasn't coming today. But she hadn't informed me. Oh laksh why would she inform you, you are not her friend or are you?
I asked myself that question before teacher called my name.
Teacher- " laksh Maheshwari "
Laksh-" yes sir"
Teacher- " very good you have improved a lot. He has got 65 marks.
The class looked at me shockingly. I felt proud of myself. I walked and took my sheets.
Laksh- " sir"
Teacher- " yes laksh"
Laksh-" ragini ke marks. Can I have her sheets too?"
Teacher- " ragini has got 93 marks. But why do you want her sheets?"
Laksh-" sir I'll give her as she is absent today"
Teacher- " OK fine "
I took her sheets and came to my seat. Ragini kitni khush hoti par wo aayi kyu nahi"
As I walked out of the class my friends stopped me. They unanimously asked me for the party.
Laksh- " party kiss liye?"
Friend-" bhai waah itne achhe marks party nahi dega kya?'
Laksh- " dunga yaar lekin pehle usse jiski wajah se ye possible hua hai"
Yes he was talking about ragini. That day when ragini had exposed him he was very angry with her. He wanted to take revenge but today he realised the importance of her step vey well. If she had allowed him to cheat that day he wouldn't have got this marks. How happy dad and maa would be to see this? They would be proud of him. All this thoughts made him emotional. Ragini is my true friend.
He decided to call her.
No one answered. I was nervous. What if she gets angry again? So what he had to share this news with her. She was the reason for this happiness. After three times she finally picked up the phone.
Ragini-" hello"
Laksh- " ragini tum college kyu nahi aayi. Pta hai aaj sir ne sheets return kar di. Tumhare 93 marks hai aur mere nahi puc.."
Ragini-" laksh hamari shaadi fix ho gayi hum college nahi ayenge"
She was crying. I didn't even console her. I had already cut the call. She was getting married. Why did this news had such a great impact on me? I felt dejected. I was sad but I didn't know why?
