So its weekend = no work and no SR. I had a 'kidda' in my mind to pass some time and thought why not review yesterday's epic for time pass - funny review of course!
No review is complete without a rating scale. When it comes to Swaragini, this is the rating scale that many of us have
⭐️ - Please kill me, that is 30 minutes I will never recover = Devar Bhabhi only special
⭐️ ⭐️ - And the Ragini drama continues. Some Swara/Some Sanky. but 50% epi frustrated us
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - Can watch once. Some SwaSan/Sujju entertainment
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️- SwaSan-licious episode. Had some good SwaSan scenes though there were some elements that bothered us and we will skip them online
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️- SwaSan heaven. On repeat mode. Multiple times. One AT done in 2-3 hours.
So now that we have the rating scale out of the way, lets get on to the actual review.

When you go to watch a movie, you are clear of the genre - or at least the main genre - of the movie. Our serials never allow us that leeway. There are competing genres making it into a hotchpotch and Swaragini (SR) episode Friday was no different. While as critics, this leaves us confused (like Salman Khan movies making 200 crore without any logic in them) we know this could very well end up being a hit episode - after all with all the genre mixture some might find it paise wasool, ek ke daam pe teen char free.
It starts with the hero (Sanskar) and heroine (Swara), sharing some romantic moments. They are the proverbial Raj and Simran. Raj errmm Sanskar is on the romance train already, extending his hand to his Simran, Swara, so that she can alight the train that is already in motion. The heroine starts running along the platform stretching her hand initially only to realise that she actually wanted to get onboard the 'behena' train in reality, heading to Banaras. Anyway, Swara changes route and starts running after the in motion 'behena' train stretching her hand now to Ragini giving Sanskar BJKT. Ofcourse, our hero as always is smarter than Swara. He knows the 'behena' train is actually going to train yard and Swara will have to get off and run behind the 'romance' train finally, so he is cool as cucumber.
Now enter the mom duo. They have a 'whodunit' on their hands when they find some interesting documents. The moms are super sleuths here, they can give Bobby Jasoos, a run for her money (not that Bobby made any money). They quickly realise that the mastermind behind the plot is the ghost of Swara's love which is haunting their sons. They are not actually in a mystery movie, they are in a horror flick. They decide that some exorcism is needed - of course failing to understand that yeh pyaar ka bhoot hai, itni aasaani se nahi uttrega. Mom no 1, Sujata (Sujju), will remind many of Kiron Kher from Dostaana. Her ladla too has bigad gaya, except in this one, she would rather have daamad, than the bahus his son chooses. Mom no.2, is Jaya Bachchan from K3G - except its her son that she is saying is "galat" in the end, after letting all the wrong happen, not her dear hubby.
Enter hero (?) no 2 at this point. Did I say they have too many characters in this one? Well by the time he enters, he has realised that a lot of genres have already been taken. Bade Bhaiyaa Sanskar has taken romance, Swara "Bhabhi" has taken family drama, the two moms have captured "Mystery" and "Horror" between them. He is only left with "Action", so action he does, trying to hit the big bro on flimsy mis-understanding. Aree chance hi nahi diya toh kissi baat pe toh ladna hoga na. Otherwise how will his career in action genre lift off?
All the while, behena Ragini is Kajol of Gupt, throwing limelight away from her and the kaaand she has done. Soon Badi behen 'eager-to-get-on-behen-train" Swara comes back. She had now decided to bring the focus back to her genre, after all serial uske naam pe hai na. One tight slap to the behena for leading her to the train yard later, she is ready to sort the family express. Of course, by then you are left wondering why detective Swara, who can now see where the behena was really headed, mistake this behena express to be ever really going to Banaras? She might have been accurate if the destination of the express was Dongri, Bangkok or Dubai given her behena's underworld connections.
All in all a masala filled episode with appropriate amount of fights, romance and drama. Watch this one for the mother son duo Sujju and Sanskar. For optimal viewing pleasure and enjoyment, like Govinda movies, we always recommend you leave your brains elsewhere before you start viewing.
