Sorry for the delay, And also for this part being shorter than usual.
Also there is not too much that happens in this, mainly sweet moments of Swasan.
I am planning to get the marriage update in the next episode and then move on with the Ragini track. I don't have this story planned out so really it is goes with the flow.
Please do comment! I love reading them and it puts an instant smile on my face 😊
And now without much further a due
Part 6
The next day brought with it the hustle and bustle that usually surrounds weddings. Swara was yet again woken up, quite ruthlessly is she be asked, by her dear husband who as usual took an immense pleasure in waking her up, seeing her crinkle her face and roll over until there was no way out. Her usual rants about everyone being her *neend ke dushman* and dragging herself to the bathroom grudgingly to freshen up. He got to work and started to make the bed which Swara helped with after she got out of the bathroom. "Sanskar, logo ko jaldi uthne ki kya bimaari hoti hai?" "madam, you are the odd one out here. So stop complaining and lets go down. I don't want to be scolded by Bade Papa!" "Hahaha, kitna darte ho tum Bade Papa se! Itne sweet aur cute toh hai." She mocked him as she put her hands around his neck. "Sweet aur cute?" He scoffed, "what world are you living in? He has a soft corner for you, that's why. You know what? I'm starting to think that Bade Papa loves you more than me!" And like that, he took her hands off and sat back down on the bed with a huff. Swara took a good amusing look at her husband. She never knew that someone could beat her in childishness she thought with a silent chuckle. She strode up to him. "Ole, my dear husband! Gussa ho gayye?" she asked in an overly sweet voice. "Haan hoon, toh, kya karlogi?" he tuned his face away. Swara put one hand on his shoulder and the other on his cheek turning his face towards hers. She tenderly placed a kiss on his cheek, and then on his other cheek, smiling slightly as she saw the boyish grim appear on his face. He put his arms around her and pulled her closer to close that final gap between them sealing the deal with a sweet kiss. Well at least that is what it started out as. Cheeks flushed, slightly out of breath and their hair tousled, they quickly attempted to correct their appearance before heading down to join the family.
A few hours later and Swara was being treated like a princess. There were two women applying her henna and making the most intricate and stunning designs to adorn her former empty hands. Sujata and Annapurna were watching with adoration as their three daughter in laws were joking and giggling together acting like teenage girls. "Jiji" Sujata said, "Inko aise dekh ke mhare ko apne din yaad a gayye, Hum bhi kaise aise hi bheno ki tarha hasi mazaak kart e the na?" Annapurna smiled at the fond memories that emerged. "Haan Sujata, sach kaha tumne, bhagwan karein ke inka yeh rishta hamare rishte ke jaise bane. Thora meetha, aur thora khata."
While all this was going on here, Sanskar was getting really impatient. "Yeh koi baat hui?" he exclaimed in slight anger. "Ladies function kyun hota hai yeh mehndi wagera?" "Aisa hi hai Sanskar" Aadarsh relied calmly, with a knowing smile. Laksh too was smiling. For reasns beyond his, he could no longer feel the resentment that he was showing to Sanskar for all this time. And he didn't have any qualms about Swara moving on with her life. She wasn't wrong when she said that he made the decision of marrying Ragini. He did that. No one else. And that is why he needed to start taking responsibility of his actions. Again, it was the old tale of ow he needed to be more like Sanskar. He was tired of hearing this time and again, but for perhaps the first time ever he was starting to understand why people are constantly saying this. He looked at Sanskar who was still mindlessly arguing with Aadarsh about how it was unfair that the ladies had an entire function for themselves while they got to do nothing but get bored up here. Today he took a good look at Sanskar. The brother who he considered even closer to him than Aadarsh. A brother who he used to call Bhai, even though he was only one and a half months older. His brother who gave him anything he asked for. Even if it were his fair share of things. Bhai's Lucky would be the most important thing for Bhai. How things had changed. His Bhai came back with the intent to destroy him. But at the same time he claims to have mended his ways. And he knew one thing, no matter how much he has been denying this to himself for the past weeks, his Bhai's eyes never lie. As much as his envious self wanted to deny it, it just could not ignore the fact that this time, like the many others, it was him who was making a mistake in judging Sanskar. He knew one thing, that Sanskar may go down the wrong path, but never for the wrong reasons. Anything and everything Sanskar does, he does because he is convinced that it is the right thing to do.
Bringing him out of his reverie Aadarsh said to him "Laksh tum hi kaho kuch isse, main sanjhate samjhate thak gayya" Sanskar and Laksh looked at each other and then quickly averted their eyes. Before the situation got awkward, Sanskar got up and said "I don't care about anything, I am going down there and I will be a part of this!" And before anyone could stop him, he trooped off in the direction of the living room. "Pitega" Aadarsh said shaking his head with a smile.
As Sanskar confidently glided down the stairs, with utmost grace it must be said, all the ladies, Swara included, stopped what they were doing and stared at him. Mostly in shock, however Swara was just staring at the dapper husband of hers who is the most handsome and gorgeous person she has ever laid eyes on.
"Sanskar, tum yahan kya...?" Annapurna was cut off as Sanskar had the following to say. "Maa, I want to be part of this. What is this? It's my wedding and I can't even be part of the rituals, this is not done!" And he went and took a spot next to Swara who was still staring at him dumbfounded at his antics. What was this man up to? She thought.
"Sanskar, mere khyaal se tum sahi keh rahe ho" Said Ragini making Sanskar very happy to have someone on his side. But Ragini had more to say, "haan Sanskar, par ek shart pe." Slightly afraid now to the amusement of the ladies present he persisted "Kaisi shart?" he asked a little timidly causing everyone to melt at his adorable chilsdish exression. "Shart yeh hai ke jaise Swara tumhara naam apne haath pe likh rahi hai, vaise hi tumhe Swara ka naam apne haath pe likhna hai." Everyonne waiting for him to flatly refuse were shocked to hear Sanskar say "Done!" with no hesitation as he went on to proceed to sit next to Swara asking the Mehndi lady to write Swara's name and to make sure that it is written in the most beautiful font. "It needs to be beautiful enough to give my Swara's beauty a chellenge." He stated, "Although I am setting you a near impossible task here" He said with a small deliberation looking and admiring Swara for the umpteenth time.
Sanskar and Swara were again back in the soft haven of their room, sitting closely snuggled next to each other admiring the others mehndi. "I can't wait for tomorrow Sanskar" Swara began. "Sanskar, I don't know if I deserve you, but I'm too selfish to every let you go. You have always stood by me, through thick and thin, you always put me and my happiness above yours, and I never thought of you! It was always about me, my demands, my needs. You never mentioned anything you want." Close to tears, this was something that was bothering her for a while now. How could he possibly love someone like her. She was always so selfish. He deserves better. As much as it pained her to think this way.
Sanskar, staring at his wife, he was spellbound at her confession. Did she really feel like she was selfish? Did she really not know what she means to him, and what would happen to him if sh ever left him now? "Swara! You silly girl!" He began "How do I even begin to tell what you mean to me. You know why I love you?" She shook her head at this. "I love you because you are what makes me want to be a better person. I look forward to every morning knowing that I can spend the coming day with you, just being with you makes me happy. With you I am content. You are the only person because of whom I stopped before committing god knows how many more mistakes. You are the only one who drove sense and taught me how to love again and how to move on in life! And you think you are selfish? Everything you have done in for you Maa. And even after Ragini has done so much to you, you are still standing strong with her!" After a small silence he added, "Even after what I did to you..." And before he could finish Swara silenced him with a kiss filled with passion and love. With every fiber in her body she wanted him to know what he means for her. And to promise him that her love is here to stay. As they broke apart, both their eyes moist, Swara said "Sanskar, what you did, you did when you didn't know me. I am not saying it was right, or that it can be justified. You made your mistakes. But Sanskar, you repented for them. Heck! You are still repenting. But Sanskar, you don't need to anymore. Ab bas. Till when are you going to beat yourself up for this? I love you Sanskar. You are the reason there is a smile on my face when I wake up in the morning." Foreheads leaning into each others Sanskar couldn't help but say "Swara, you lie pretty well nowadays" "When did I lie?" she asked indignantly. "You never wake up with a smile" He replied chuckling at her expression, another action he regretted since soon he had to fend for his life as Swara swatted away with mock anger.
