BTW...I forgot to add in my last comment...that I simply loved the butterfly and caterpillar analogy. Reminded me of a quote I read in a nature preserve somewhere (think it was kabini, part of the nagarahole sanctuary in karnataka ): that we try to kill all the caterpillars, and then complain that there are no butterflies 😊

Your story had references to so many things that I love: the mahabharata, natural ecology, games of strategy and so on. Eagerly looking forward to Snow Queen 😊
