But the paramater is simply that it has to mass-appreciable.
Everything before the female-lead's marriage - her clothes, her parents, etc- are usually dispensible once she marries, unless the majority-audience loved the previous pairing massively.

And when a character is introduced in the sort of clothes Swara was in, there are to possibilities for majority-audience -
She's a junior female-lead or vamp.
Or she will become ultra-conservative dressing-style after marriage.

Both patterns work with mass-viewership.
But if the female-lead is shown dressing mass-unappreciably after marriage (with the implication of disrespect to her marriage and sasuraal), then the series either has to sacrifice her screenspace or the series closes down. :(

We have solo scenes of Ragini standing, walking, thinking whatever, so many times.
Swara has scenes either with Sanskaar or with Ragini, or talking about her how she won't break her sister's marriage.

If Swara were getting TRP, all those long solo scenes of Ragini walking (no one else visible in the whole scene) etc, would have been Swara instead.
Swara's scenes usually have flashbacks of SwaSan or Swaragini. :(
