The story shall continue from where Sharmista tells Shekhar the truth about Swara's marriage, Ragini locking herself in the car boot, Sharmista chooses to support her daughter, Shekhar disowning Swara, Swasan asked to leave the house.

Chapter 1
Durgaprasad looks around the dining table. Shaking his head mentally, he frowns as he takes in the different expressions of his family. It was a night of celebration, of joy... Instead there was an under current of gloominess... Some had sadness, distraught written on their faces, others tried to mask their sadness with false happiness unsuccessfully.
His attention turns to the cause of this gloominess... Swara, then towards her sister, Ragini... Then back at Swara, all the while thinking, "how did I get it so wrong? This girl, despite being Bengali managed to convince me that she would be good for my son, for the family."
Looks at Sanskaar and thinks guiltily, "he has sacrificed so much... for Laksh... For the family." Then wonders skeptically, "has he really forgotten the past?" His memories race towards the past. Closing his eyes, he thinks, "don't go there Durgaprasad. Sanskaar seems to have moved on. Let the past stay buried."
The door bell rings. Everybody looks to one another in surprise, wondering who could be calling this late... Deep down groaning as they wonder, "what now! Wasn't the day eventful enough!"
The butler walks in with an envelope. Annapurna asks, "what is it, Prakash?" Prakash replies, "ma'am Courier. It is for Saab." Nodding, she replies, "put it on the desk in his study."

Later in the night Swara and Sanskaar knock on the study door before entering. To their surprise they see a teary eyed Anapurna and an angry Durgaprasad. Both try to compose themselves.
Though curious, Sanskaar says, "we are sorry to have interrupted. We shall come back later." Durgaprasad stops them by saying, "no need. We are done." Taking out the dvd from the dvd player, he looks at Anapurna and says relentingly, "we shall do it your way" and places the dvd into the desk drawer.
Happy that her husband relented, Anapurna excuses herself from the study.

Sharmista rests her head on her mother's lap, occasionally wiping her silent tears. Dida absentmindedly runs her fingers through her daughter's hair. Both lost in thought. Both worried over what fate had delivered on their doorstep. "Aai," Sharmista says. "Hmmm, shomi," Dida replies absently.
Sitting up, Sharmista looks at her mum, her mind decided she says in a determined voice, "I am going to get Swara and Sanskaar married." Dida stares at her daughter, surprised, exclaims, "what? Why?"
Giving her mother a pointed look, Sharmista continues, "all her life people have pointed fingers at her... All because of me... The choices I made..." Looking at her mother imploringly, she adds with teary eyes, "I can't bear it that more fingers will point towards her because of me."
Shaking her head with disbelief, Dida replies, "shomi... Don't think like this. It is wrong. Swara needs you strong. She is fearless... She can face society... Just like you... Just like me. She is doing nothing wrong. Why would you want her to marry someone she does not love?" Caressing her daughter's cheek, Dida continues softly, "look what happened when you married..."
Grabbing her mother's hand into hers, Sharmista interrupts, "my case was different." Placing her other hand on her womb, her eyes soften as she says with a soft smile, "I was carrying Swara. It was different." Continues with a determined voice, "I don't want Swara following my footsteps. I had Swara... And Swara has Sanskaar. Look at him... He is by her side, standing by her at her worst time... Helping her."
Dida shakes her head, her eyes filled with doubt, says, "but shomi..." Sharmista inches closer, interrupts and says imploringly, "Dida, you know how difficult it is to find someone to stand by at your bad times...right?" Dida nods affirmatively. Sharmista continues, "Swara found such a person... Sanskaar. Aai, I think Sanskaar will make a wonderful life partner for Swara. He will never dessert her when life becomes tough... He will always put her first," she ends with chocked emotions.
Dida looks at her daughter with understanding, realising that deep down her daughter was hurting over her husband casting her aside so easily. She thinks, "if only you would share with me what you feel."
Teary eyed, Sharmista says, "Aai, I want a different life for Swara... A life very different from mine." The second half of the sentence though never voiced, Dida was able to hear it loud and clear as she reads the hidden pain in her daughter's life.
Wanting to replace the pain with happiness, Dida says, "Swara will not be happy." Laughing aloud, Sharmista hugs her mum and says happily, "she will be livid."
