SwaSan- AnDu TS Happy Anniversary

Part 1

25^th Wedding Anniversary, a celebration of love as bright and enduring as silver!

Annapurna and Durga Prasad Maheshwari had been life partners for a quarter of a century. They had spent 25 years of togetherness filled with love, understanding and respect for each other. Annapurna and Durga Prasad not only completed each other they completed the Maheshwari family. Being the head of the family they had made a lot of sacrifices for the family's happiness. Each and every member wanted to make the Silver Wedding Anniversary a special one for the Golden couple.

Sujata-Ram, Adarsh-Parineeta, Ragini-Laksh, Swara-Sanskar and Uttara had gathered on the terrace for a secret meeting for the anniversary surprise. Swara was very excited as for the first time Sanskar did not need to ask the family members to treat her as one of their own. Uttara whole heartedly had accepted and befriended her bhabhi. Swara opened her mouth to give a suggestion but Ragini beat her to it. "Swara, hum jaante hain tum yehi kahogi na ki humein ek grand party deni chahiye ma aur papaji ki 25^th wedding anniversary ke liye."

Everyone looked at Swara. It was not a bad idea actually it was a new idea for the Maheshwaris. Sujata as usual disapproved of her Bangalan bahu even before listening to her idea. She made faces. Ragini did not like it one bit that everyone was waiting for Swara to speak. She quickly went to her and in a sugary voice said, "Swara tum bhi na! Badi ho jao, shaadi ho gayi hai tumhari. Ab tum Swara Bose nahi Swara Maheshwari ho, ek Marwari parivar ki bahu. Humaare parivaron mein pooja ki jaati hai party nahi." Swara kept mum. Sanskar's blood was boiling. He wanted to speak on her behalf but Swara asked him not to. Ragini gave her idea of performing a pooja on the occasion of anniversary of Annapurna and Durga Prasad. Everyone agreed with her and dispersed. Swara came to the bedroom and Sanskar followed.

He had begun to know Swara by now and knew that she would have some special idea for the anniversary celebration. "Swara?" "Hmm." "Tumhara idea kya tha?" Sanskar asked helping Swara place a raw photo frame on the floor. Swara ignored the question. They were decorating a photo frame to gift Annapurna and Durga Prasad on the anniversary. "Tch! Sanskar concentrate karo na. Craft mein fail hote the kya?" Swara saw Sanskar putting two same colored stones next to each other. "Oops!" Sanskar's smile could get him out of any trouble and even now it did. "Sanskar, badi ma aur bade papa ko humaara gift accha lagega na? They will accept our gift, hai na?" Sanskar's eyes brimmed with tears on hearing Swara's question. He was trying but he was not able to help Swara make her rightful place in the family. "Of course they will love it and also accept it." Swara was very happy with Sanskar's reply.

"Swara, maine kuch poocha. What was your idea for the anniversary?" Sanskar pressed Swara for her idea. She could express herself freely at least in front of him. "Main soch rahi thi, what if bade papa takes badi ma out for dinner. You know sirf wo dono kuch waqt bas ek doosre ke liye ke doosre ke saath." Swara's eyes were glistening as she gave her idea. "Tum keh rahi ho jaise hum tum jaate hain, movie, dinner, drive... Badi ma aur bade papa date par!" "Haan!" "Kabhi nahi." "Kyun? Badi ma ka bhi dil karta hoga na ki wo kuch waqt sirf bade papa ke saath bitaye... Kuch unki sune kuch apni kahein..." Sasnkar loved the idea but he also knew it can never happen. "Swara, ye nahi ho sakta!"

Swara did not like this Sanskar one bit. "I know like every wife badi ma ka bhi mann karta hoga ki bade papa unhe bahar le jaaye. I would want my husband to take me out." Swara was standing with her hands at her waist. Sanskar made her sit next to him. "Badi ma ka mann nahi karta... nahi karega..." Sanskar went to the window and opened it. He was looking at the beautiful full moon. "Jab meri tumhaari umar mein mann maarkar jena aa jaaye toh iss umar mein mann nahi karta." "What do you mean? Sanskar please bolo na!" Swara put her hand on his biceps.

"Main 10 - 11 saal ka tha. Tab badi ma aur bade papa ki anniversary thi. Tab maine bhi kaha tha bade papa badi ma ko bahar le jaayenge akele. Main bahut khush tha. Swara maine badi ma ko apna sab kuch iss ghar ko aur ghar walon ko dete dekha tha and she never asked for anything in return." "Toh wo log gaye the?" "Nahi... wo nahi gaye par mujhe pata chala ki badi ma bade papa ke saath kabhi akele bahar nahi jaati." Swara was shocked to hear this. "Sanskar?" "I should reframe my statement. Badi ma bade papa ke saath iss family ko represent karne ke liye family functions, community functions mein, bade papa ki business parties mein jaati hain but never to spend time with him. Wo personal reasons ke liye kabhi akele saath bahar nahi jaate."

"Kyun?" Swara could not understand it. "Maine ma aur papa ki baat suni thi. Badi ma aur bade papa ki first wedding anniversary thi. Badi ma bahut excited thi, subah ghar par pooja hui unhone socha ki raat ko wo dono bahar jaayenge... Iss ghar mein aane ke baad ye unki pehli wish thi, pehli baar she wanted something for herself par dadi ne unhe yaad dilaya ki acchi Marwari bahu sab ko saath lekar chalti hai. Badi ma ko taunt maara ki wo bade papa ko akele bahar le jakar unhe family se alalg karna chahti hain." Swara saw that it had pained Sanskar to hear this. Annapurna was not his badi ma she was his ma and Sujata was his mom.

"Bade papa ne kuch nahi kaha?" Swara was curious to know. Sanskar looked at her. "Acche Marwari bte apne ma baap ke saamne biwi ki side nahi lete." Swara pressed on his shoulder and Sanskar gave her a faint smile. "Sanskar, ye toh tab ki baat hai na. Ab toh bade papa badi ma ko dinner par lekar ja sakte hain." "Aur unhe ye nek idea dega kaun?" "Tum!" Swara replied in a singing voice. "Swara, tum jaanti ho iss ghar mein hummari baat koi nahi sunta. Mujhe risk nahi lena, bade papa agar badi ma ko lekar jab hi rahe honge toh maine idea diya karke plan cancel kar denge." A sad Swara plopped on the bed. Sasnskar was packing the photo frame which they had decorated. Swara was acting all dreamy. "Waise it would be so romantic na agar bade papa badi ma ko date par!" Sanskar loved Swara never give up attitude. "Kya hua tumhari MTv Bolti band kyun ho gayi?" He asked when she became silent. He looked up and saw Durga Prasad standing at the door of their bedroom. From the look of it, Sanskar and Swara both had a doubt that DP had heard their entire conversation.

"Tum dono study mien aao!" He roared and left. Swara and Sanskar looked at each other.

Interesting. ...would love to see swasan and andu bonding...hopefully dp wl not be furious n wd ask them to make the arrangements covertly. ...
