The conversation between swara and shomi made me really happy the other day because i realized that swara didn't only love this so-called 'good' and 'mature' version of laksh, she loves lucky just as much and its always been him- when he made mistakes that enraged her or he shared his happiness that comforted her, in every form of Laksh, she's always loved him even if she couldn't admit it to herself. this was awesome for me cos i had a HUGE problem with lucky becoming laksh in order for swara to love him. as if lucky wasn't good enough. Some wise man (SRK movie. duh! the wisest love guru) has said- koi pyaar kare, toh tumse kare, tum jaise ho waise kare. koi tumhe badal ke pyaar kare toh woh pyaar nahi sauda kare, aur saiba pyaar mein sauda nahi hota. ive always believed that and it extends to every kind of love and in establishing every kind of relationship. whether it be between parent child or husband wife or any other relationship. its the integrity and honesty of the relationship that relies upon each individual being themselves. i don't think clothes define who you are. but the people who insist on having to wear certain clothes to look and seem acceptable, do define your personality by your clothes. to them its a part of your identity. so when they ask you to change your clothes, they're asking you to change your identity because thats the only condition under which they'll love you- basically they don't love you but could learn to love a version of you. To those people, the only thing you should change is your manners and show them the middle finger.
Swara as a character is perhaps the most insecure one in this whole show. people think she's confident but it is just a facade. she's a little girl with daddy issues and constant insecurity that the happiness in her life will go away- be it her father, her family or now laksh and his family. but if to be with laksh and to gain the Maheshwari approval Swara has to change the clothes that define her to them, then the maheshwaris and ragini the fake swara can HAVE him (and this is coming from a die hard Laksh and Swarya fan, not a swara fan). It is precisely this mentality that somehow girls who wear clothes like ragini have more respectability and integrity to preserve than girls wearing modern clothes, this idea that modern clothes will get you the guy but to get any further in the relationship you'll have to be a traditional bahu types; this is what makes girls like me who wear western clothes feel like we are naked on the streets and give the men on the streets the cultural freedom to make us feel that way. make us feel like we are unacceptable and our clothes are somehow a reflection of loose morals. idk what will happen in the serial, I'm just going off the promo, but if swara changes herself to fit into the maheshwari house, then that will be literally a slap in the face of every girl out there whose clothes are a form of her self-expression or comfort, not her moral framework; who struggle in precisely these kind of situations with this mindset of the society on a daily basis. i find this 'plot twist' actively offensive in the same way i find religious discrimination offensive- an attack on my self expression and moral groundwork.

if these cvs have an ounce of maturity and depth of understanding, they'll recognize that rape isn't an act that happens merely when a girl is forced into sex, rape starts when a boy sees his mother praising swara for becoming a 'good girl and bahu' by changing her clothes, it progresses when he understands that these clothes are the parameter of the good girl and any alternative is the bad girl, it goes further when he looks at women not fitting the good girl image as an object and hears the women he respects- the women in his society justify his crude intentions as a flaw in the girl's dressing sense, the physical act is but a culmination of years of conditioning. Suffices to say Im extremely unhappy with DP's conditional acceptance and this swarya engagement track.

I was sad when we found out about ragini turning into swara, because killing your identity and taking on the shallow identity of someone else is pathetic. i wouldnt be this disappointed in this character if atleast she understood the essence of who swara is, but alas swara is just her clothes to her sister as well. because no matter how much ragini tries, she's fundamentally everything swara isn't- she's weak minded, she's a nurturer not a stern guide, she's an introvert and no amount of copying swara will change that, she puts herself first, everyone else she loves comes later. none of these are bad qualities just not qualities she can change and she doesn't understand that. she can never be swara no matter how much she tries cos not everyone is cut out for everything. a street kid lives on the street through rain and shine, if my kid stays in the rain for a day he gets sick. but atleast in all of this theres some twisted sense of empowerment- she's doing this crazy to get what she wants not to try fit into a place that should be hers naturally like swara is doing. pathetic.

i am confident on Laksh's love and i hope they don't disappoint on that end. thus i will refrain from talking about his reaction to Ragini's change in clothes. if theres any integrity in this show Laksh will be unaffected by that. unless of course they decide to be disgusting and show laksh drunkenly mistakes her to be swara, at this point ragini isn't above that in the slightest. but i believe that he loves swara's soul and as long as that doesn't change, he'll love her but i do hope he'll encourage swara to retain her self-expression even if its unpopular in his family, but like all good things you can't expect from this serial this is probably somewhere on that list. i don't watch this show anymore but after the new promo, i HAD to write this. not because I'm sad that a good show has become crap, I've made my peace with that. but because the experts at RS think this is the kind of track needed for TRP. I hope our audience proves them wrong.

teju di such a long post 😕 di ! I agree with each and every word of u di 🥱 ragini copying swara is such a bull shit track 😡 and swara changes to ragini out fit is nothing much to me di becoz as far as her character remains to what every be the change in her look is going to rocking idk this track shows true love of laksh to his shona n proves his love not for swaras out fits or anything else but for her character n soul * n ragini changing her character to swara idk she looses everything ie her family n love at end ! n I don't know about pairing conformation becoz anything can happened so for now I feel its swarya ...I love this pair but in case CVS did a mistake by pairing ragya idk it will be huge loss to them n not only them but it will apply to ragini ,laksh becoz in that swara occupies whole credit of show n sanskar would be main lead for sure n there pairing literally makes show one side that is swasan but what every di nice post thank u for sharing ur views n tc of health di n i will quit this show when i get official confirmation if pairing it wouldn't contain swarya !!!!! thanks di

ratna my issue isn't her changing her wardrobe to look like ragini's- thats immaterial, she can start wearing a burkha if that pleases her but she shouldn't HAVE to change her wardrobe because she's entering the maheshwari household to fit in. theres nothing wrong with her current wardrobe and theres no rule that she needs to dress differently after marriage. the guy marrying her knew her taste in clothes and liked that aspect of her as well. the maheshwari family isn't under any compulsion to accept swara- not laksh, not swara has ever pressured them. they want to accept swara because she's a great girl right? then they must accept swara as she is, without expectation of change. if she decides to wear sarees everyday onwards after marriage as a sign of respect to her in-laws then thats her choice, it shouldn't be an expectation. my issue is with what clothes represent to the maheshwaris and what clothes represent in the serial, like they are the embodiment of personality, thats the message they're sending out which is untrue.

i know teju di,but its like the rule of tellywood😕.dunno if u have watched or not, there was this show called chanchan on sony where the girl is much modern, doesn't know to wear a saree, but after shadi, she has to.turns out to be a comedy disaster.means she dunno how to keep pallu on head, holds it with teeth😆finally pallu catches fire in kitchen, and sasurji orders that from that day,she must not wear saris and she switches to anarkali.but i guess RS is in no mood for comedy.but here i really want to see swara revolting against this pallu system at DP house,be the change, wear what she likes.[though TRP audience prefer anarkalis, but in SNS paridhi used to roam around wearing short dresses even after shadi,NOBODY had any issue with that.]

i can't read so long posts at one go so took me time but finally did it ( yay me)

coming to the topic...one by one...
i agree completely that one should be judged on inner self not appearance...ragini is way wrong turning to someone else to win love as per baba srk lolz..she is not just turning clothes...but also her identity...her personality...
but swara...shes not doing this to impress anyone...shes doing this for the role she will be playing now...I m quite opposite here...those clothes are the tradition of maheshwari family...and she is going to be their bahu..and I don't find it any wrong if she follows their tradition...she should...and m in support of this...she changing her dress doesnt mean she is changing herself...she will be the same swara...but I too don't mean she give up her western attire...she should use it sometimes..,but feel we should expect anyone to his mindset in a second...for ex. I don't like tea...u can't expect me to just start drinking it on daily basis...I will need some t to adapt to it...in a family like mahwshwari who always followed traditional dresses, I don't expect them to accept the western attire so suddenly...the change though can be bought out slowly...so m solely with swara following the tradition..

I will say nothing on rape issue...

coming to laksh...I don't understand what ragini thinks of him as a guy...chalk ragini win him by turning into swara...and suppose laksh then falls in love with a girl who drinks or smoke or take drug...will ragini change to that too?
laksh must have encountered many girls till now...both with Indian and western looks...more modern than swara...but he fall for swara...clearly proves his love is beyond looks...his love is pure...straight from heart to heart...ragini is ragini no matter what she wears...he loves swara...no matter what she wears...

and society's mentality...aah...I too hate the fact why they judge people on dress...I wear jeans...tops...m asked by my mum to wear suits...when we go to my aunts place m expected to look Indian..they all know how sincere I m...not indulged in any wrong and a full indian girl and parent obedient...but still my looks are not approved off...my grandfather only approved of me...only he understood that no matter i wear western but m way good girl compared to those Indian outfit girls...sadly he's not with me anymore...

roopal i don't think traditions are more important than ppl, if traditions were being followed swara wouldnt be in this situation with laksh ever. as i said, they're under no compulsion to accept swara at all, but if they do, it should be an acceptance of the total package. they know who and what swara is, if they accept her its because they've adjusted their mindsets to accommodate for her in their family dynamic- just the way she is. if after marriage swara decides to wear 5 kg lehenga everyday, thats fine- its her choice out of respect for her new family. but if anyone manages to make her feel OBLIGATED to dress like that in order for her to fit in with her new family then thats not acceptable. laksh and the family accepting her means that empty space of laksh's wife belongs to her, she shouldn't have to blend in, laksh sure as hell doesn't.

I agree
but they DPM for now didn't accepted her for she wore inidian dresses
he accepted her the way she is...keeping religion aside...
yes tradition are not people but as u said its just a respect to the elders...I said I don't want her to completely leave her old dresses...she should wear them..but the traditional dresses too...example at home the girls wear saree...she should wear that...on outings she can go western...
yes she will not be accepted but slow changes can be accepted if one proves there's no harm with it..swara will need to work on this a bit...
she will be expected to follow the tradition but swara have much potential to reform them...
