So I watched the episode yesterday and i thought about all the different little bits and pieces. so here's what i liked- Shomi's understanding and her little stunt at the end, the precap foretells of things to come.
what i don't like- befitoor ka revenge tracks based on misunderstanding ruining everyones lives. this show had shown misunderstanding getting resolved very quickly and people moving on to the next stage. but now they've run out of ideas i think.
Swarya- they'll inevitably lose everything that kept me to their story till now. i always knew that there are so many layers of real problems already in the Swarya relationship- the fact that he was her sister's once upon a time fiance, dadi, DP, getting acceptance, making adjustments, personality clashes, laksh becoming independent, swara adjusting to a completely new family structure, swarya finding a compromise between their independent lifestyle as a couple and the family's restrictive jointness. things frankly i could've written about for atleast five years, couple that with ragini getting some damned storyline and we have a 10 year script. they didn't need this extra ott stuff to make this show work. now, whichever way they go, that friendship, that support, that simplicity and down to earth feeling is all gone, atleast for now, replaced by serial ott natak. frankly, I've said it before- it wasn't the sisters that got me to the show cos i thought they're bond was too automatic and whilst swara was overdeveloped ragini was and is grossly under, it was shekhar and shomi that intrigued me, what kept me to the screen was the promise of a love story based on clean and refreshing ideals, of two individuals who have a very clear understanding of what they want and are smart individuals who can do anything with each others support. whats now is just full on hindi masala serial zordar jhatka types nonsense. and not saying thats bad, maybe it'll be even better (probs not) or maybe they will find a way to preserve that integrity of swarya and by extension the show for me. so I'm giving them a gift, a window, i won't watch, but i won't leave. i'll tune into the forum every now and then.
VERDICT: i am taking a two week sabbatical, going to goa and catching up with shows that've proven their worth of my interest, namely Game of Thrones and Salem and Tere Sheher Mein. Then i'll decide whats up- stay or go. cvs NEED to retain swarya's friendship and integrity AND GIVE RAGINI A DAMNED GOOD STORYLINE THAT DOESNT INVOLVE PLAYING SECOND FIDDLE TO SWARA'S STORY! but you'll find me around the forum for that time.
