I watched StarBharat but mostly because of Aham's performance.
Yes, I liked many other performances also.
But honestly I dont like the direction of the show.😕
Nice performances, good costumes,extraordinary use of technique saved the show.
The most disappointing part in StarBharat was Kurushetra war.😕
But still, its fetched good TRP, so, its a HIT show.
Then, Sid T made shows on Razia Sultana & Karna.
At least for me, what they showed in Razia Sultana & the way they portrayed everything, a complete disappointment.
Come on, they are making show on Razia Sultana, the only woman ruler in the throne of Delhi, thats too in Medieval India.they have to show it with care.But they lacks everything.
Then, Manmarziyan, a contemporary show.
Better I dont say anything about it.
Starting was nice, but then, they lost in the middle & also the characters.
Now, SuryaPutra Karna, for me, this is worst.
In Star-Bharat at least, I saw some handsome faces & nice performances, this show lacks this also.
Sorry to all Gautam fans, I personally, dont like the performance of him as Karna.
Somehow, he is not my Karna whom I loved, I fail to imagine him as Karna.
& who is the guy playing Krishna???😡

As a Karna fan, I dont him to see as a dudh ka dhula hua character.
I want him to see with all his faults, struggles, confusion & achievement.😳

@Madhu, I too wish to see Karna as he was. He was a flawed person, but he was a person. He was a human being who had his own share of struggles, losses and victories. I wanted to see his life, his relation with his parents, his spouse and children and his siblings. What I do not wish to see is this made up story of Karna which has no relation either to the man or to the epic. I feel that the ffs we see in this forum are more true to epic Karna than what is shown in this show.

I happened to come across this thread and you guys are doing such a great job describing SidT!

Although, I haven't been a big fan of Karna, ever, I just cannot bear the amount of dramatization being shown on the show.

It seems as if the whole meaning of Mahabharat, the intricately detailed characters have been changed just for the sake of TRPs. It is horrifying how the CVs have changed the whole meaning of the epic, the point of all the characters, just to suit one person.

Draupadi is someone I love and respect, but this person has portrayed her in such a bad light, it is disgusting. They cannot being showing things that happened in the name of creative freedom. This tag has long lost its meaning for Indian Television.

Even if someone patiently sits through it, considering how people in the industry modify things, which has been a practice that has been prevalent since god-knows-when, there have been some instances where Draupadi's character has been humiliated to an extent, it is shameful to even watch the show for me. They cannot be disrespecting women, it goes completely against the concept of feminism. They are disregarding everything and providing incorrect information to the audience, all age groups included.

I liked how Ahem portrayed Karna in Star Plus' Mahabharata, but this is disgraceful. A show like this wasn't expected from SidT after StarBharat.

Yes...it got a lot of commercial success...The reasons are:

#Mahabharat was remade after a long time in a grand scale...n it was dubbed in various languages n promoted heavily...thus arousing curiosity in everyone.

#It had amazing visual effects(as compared to other Hindi serials)...great sets n costumes n more importantly brilliant music.

#Finally some actors like SRJ, Pooja, Aham, etc performed brilliantly and also looked gorgeous...thus attracting audience.

#On top of that the makers had sensatilnalized certain incidents like Draupadi's Swamvar, Ardi, Draupadi's Vastraharan that gained attention of many people.

We bashed the show regularly...n yet watched it regularly too only to come back to this forum n bash again...😆 It did have some brilliant episodes like Vishwaroopam...Draupadi's birth episode, etc...but the creative liberty was criticized a lot. Nonetheless it was a commercial success bcoz of the grandeur n large-scale promotions.

This show is just as bad...but the pathetic performances of actors make it absolutely unbearable.

Star Plus' Karna atleast resembled epic Karna despite his softie nature but this Karna is absolutely unbearable. There are moments wen I have liked Gautam Rode as Karna but the extreme whitewashing n screaming has totally ruined everything.

Personally...I liked Draupadi's portrayal here more than Star Plus...though some Draupadi scenes in the previous show were mindblowing. Pankhuri has done well though Pooja will always be my favourite.

As for K-D...I didnt mind tbeir scenes much. Atleast the makers spared us of Palace of Illusion scenes...n I am grateful to them for that.

Agreed. I hated the distortions in the Star Bharat too. But what I loved in them in addition to what Amrita has said was that it gave a good message. The Krishna Seekh and it was something that was required to make our lives easier. If we could use every single thing Krishna said in SB in our life, then it would be so much more easier. Star Plus made the best promotions ever for Mahabharata and the result is here. I personally loved Mahabharata because it showed everyone had flaws though it tried to whitewash certain characters. Too much of screaming here and PAAARIVARTAAAN MAAAHAABHAAAT just destroyed it for me.

Draupadi portrayal, I can't speak about it. I just wrote a full post about it and K-D scenes though are less compared to the book, I hated them. Check CNAT for write-ups on K-D inspired by SidT by me and Vrish Bhai.

right, star bharat was better than this crap, atleast the krishna seekh and geeta gyan sequences had that divine touch. btw, i am searching for pooja's scene after vastra haran. kisi bhi langoedge mein chalegaa.
