I will never get fed up singing the glory of Arjun whom I adore,admire,worship and love passionately. I always feel he is special.
I wonder how can he possess that much restrain and composure despite possessing the most powerful weapons that none can own in one lifetime.
Every one gets tempted to use and enjoy the fruits of their special powers.
But not Arjun.He took it as a challenge to obtain them. But never ever thought of hurling them. Even when he has to kill Jayathrath before sunset he never thought of using them.
In contrast we see Aswathama who misused his powers not once but twice.The Narayanastra and Brahmasir.
I wonder at Arjun's steely determination and will power.
Above all I drool over his self confidence that made him invincible by just using normal Astras and basic archery skills.
What is do great with Pasupat or Brahmasir?
I already discussed the nature of the two Astras in brief.
But in detail if we read how devastating the two are we feel awestruck.
So here it is analysis of the super powers that Arjun got .
The Mahapasupat is possessed by shiv and Shakti.
Goddess Sakti used it when she killed Bhandasur.
Siva used it when he killed Tripurasur
Other than Shiv Sakti only Arjun possessed it.

PASHUPATASTRA -
Before writing on Pashupatastra,I would like to clarify 'Brahmasira' also.
Brahmasira - Well Brahmasira is not exactly a weapon but a category of weapons.The weapons capable of completely destroying the creation fall under the category of Brahmasira weapons.From Ramayan and Mahabharat,we find two such weapons-
First is the Brahmasira of Lord Brahma which seems to be the most destructive and powerful version of a Brahmastra(Brahma Weapon).As told by Dronacharya to Arjun,this weapon was capable of consuming the whole earth.In Mahabharat,only Drona,Arjun and Ashwathama possessed this weapon.Drona got this from Agnivesh and imparted its knowledge to Arjun and Ashwathama.In Sauptika Parva we see Ved Vyas using his yogic power to stop the collision of these weapons shot by Ashwathama and Arjuna.
Second Brahmasira is of Lord Shiva,which is also called 'Pashupatastra'.Arjun in Kairat Parva asks Shiva for 'Brahmasira' and Shiva gives him 'Pashupatastra'.
Vana Parva,chapter 40
(Arjuna to Lord Shiva)
"I ask of thee, O lord that fierce celestial weapon wielded by thee and called Brahmasira--that weapon of terrific prowess which destroyeth, at the end of the Yuga the entire universe"
(Lord Shiva to Arjuna)
Bhava replied, 'O powerful one. I will give to thee that favourite weapon of mine called the Pasuputa.
So this makes it clear that the Pashupatastra which Arjun obtained from Shiva was of a Brahmasira category.

Narrative:
Verily, that shaft was the excellent that mighty and terrible weapon, which is without a second, indescribable for its power, and capable of striking every creature with fear. Of vast proportions, it seemed to constantly vomit sparks of fire. Possessed of one foot, of large teeth, and a thousand heads and thousand Stomachs, it has a thousand arms, a thousand tongues, and a thousand eyes. Indeed, it seemed to continually vomit fire. O thou of mighty arms, that weapon is superior to Brahmastra,Narayanastra,Aindrastra, Agneyastra Varunastra and Yamadanda.
Here we can read,Pashupatastra being called superior to Brahmastra and Narayanastra.

Narrative:
Verily, it is capable of neutralising every other weapon in the universe. It was with that weapon that the illustrious Mahadeva had in days of yore, burnt and consumed in a moment the triple city of the Asuras.
Hence Arjun could have easily neutralise Vasavi Sakti.

Narrative 1:
In the universe there is no being including even the creator , Narayan and the deities, that are incapable of being slain by that weapon.
Narrative 2:
In the three worlds with all their mobile and immobile creatures, there is none who is incapable of being slain by this weapon.

Narrative:
(Shiva telling this to Arjun about Pashupatastra)
Neither the chief himself of the gods, nor Yama, nor the king of the Yakshas, nor Varuna, nor Vayu, knoweth it. How could men know anything of it?
If Shiva said so there should not be any doubt.
Surely only Arjun got it that too directly from Siva.
No where in the Epic it is mentioned that others possessed it at all.
Some say Meghnad also possessed it but its not true as per Valmiki Ramayan,other variations might have mentioned it though but Valmiki does not.(As per Valmiki,Meghnath had Brahmasira of Brahma,not Shiva)
*** Some slokas in Mahabharat indicate Drona using 'Pasupata' weapon on Arjuna,however that Pasupata weapon was not a Brahmasira.Arjun is the only warrior to attain it and has to be obtained directly from Mahadeva

Mahadeva could have discharged Pashupatastra using eyes,mind or bow but for others,it could have been discharged only by a special bow.
Narrative:
(Shiva to Krishna and Arjuna)
There is a celestial lake full of Amrita, not far from this place, ye slayers of foes! There were kept some time back, that celestial bow and arrow of mine. With them I slew in battle all the enemies of the gods. Bring hither, ye Krishna, that excellent bow with arrow fixed on it.'
So Pashupatastra appears to be an arrow fixed on a bow which Mahadeva gave Arjuna,and it had to be discharged with that bow only.This bow seems to be the same one used during tripura battle.
Nevertheless our Archer Par Excellence followed Shiva's instructions and Drona's directions with great devotion and restraint.
Arjun is great because apart from being a great warrior
He is a man with golden heart.
