As luck would have it, I watched a few minutes of this episode, where this guy opted out.

Prompted me to make this post.

Its nothing to do with anything else but WRONG EXPECTATIONS in the first place!

I have seen people stuck in a bad marriage / sad relationships merely because their expectations were hugely different from what reality had to offer them. I have seen Indians who came to work in Europe with visions of Dollar / Euro greenery and crying day in day out till they could take it no more and ran back to the resigned acceptance of lower salaries but comfort of 'own friends', house maid, parents and familiar surrounding in 'one's own India'. In some cases, its sulking wives who miss their kitty parties and their favorite past time of haggling with street vendors back home who drive their stressed hubbies to call it quits here.

It all boils down to WHAT WERE YOUR EXPECTATIONS, when you entered a different country, a relationship, a marriage or a show like SURVIVOR for that matter!

In Karan's case romance of lazing around on a beach as waves lovingly brush your feet, skimpily clad babes around offering pineapple and fried fish periodically was the vision in his eyes and mind...reality, different enough to rudely awaken him, make him realise what he was missing in life every moment and finally, driving him to call it quits! 😭

Nice post! But some where i don't really agree...it can't be the case that he had no idea what he was going into while signing the show...it was mere bad health that forced him to quit the show.

I disagree. KP is a fully grown man-surely he read the terms of his contract! He is an actor (albeit a one soap wonder!),he should have made it his business to watch episodes of other Survivor series and made an informed choice.Others are in the same boat as him-of needing to be seen by Fekta & company! By signing on & then quitting because he wasn't man enough to hack it has probably robbed someone of an opportunity.I'm totally with Trinket who 1st brought up THIS facet of his cowardly Quit Island move on another thread!

@ Cruiser- Congrats, even IF recognizes your dazzling qualities!! Nice post!
BTW-Sponge Bob Evie eats MORE than Juhi...if you need inspiration!!

bad health that he brought it to himself, he was stubborn at first to not eat rice with coconut water or bits in it, simply because he had to eat that everyday,. Then why didn't he go out in wild and look for other other choices,. But all of them wanted production to bring them chicken so they all could eat something different,. I mean come on, Survivor USA is shown on indian tv, he is telling me he hasn't done his home work before getting there,.

Hey, Cruise, good to read your stuff as always👍🏼

It's the show's core concept and the audience expectations that should matter... Sadly, my expectations were shattered too...

... I expected Evelyn to cry at the difficult tasks or Timmy to quit as he missed his fav feather pillow...heck! even Stith should miss the Canadian weather, complain about humidity and sunburns...or Payal could've missed her blueberry lip-balm and shilpa her cute husband, while Rishi missed his poodle...they all ate what came their way to sustain, stayed hydrated and sustained so far... Mind over matter...

Disagreed.

#1. He did make an informed choice. On the first day itself, when asked what he'd miss the most, his answer was bathroom. Its not that he was caught by surprise, rather its just that he was underprepared. Poor preparation is not the same as lack of preparation. And the consequence of it is called failure rather than cowardice. This is not a battlefield or some sport where your mardangi is at test. Its just an entertainment show! He was enthusiastic in all the tasks and his contribution is recognized by the entire team. When his health failed him, he decided to quit .. whats wrong in that ? One can be disappointed but to call it cowardice is unfair and harsh.

#2 Robbing another's opportunity: This is classic hindsight bias i.e. now that you know the outcome - his quittal - you're assuming that the same was also known to him all along; which is incorrect. There's no reason to believe that he came to the island with an intention to lose, rather I believe like many others, he must've fancied his chances of winning. He thought he could win, so entered the show. He gave it his best shot but couldn't succeed. Call him a failure but everything else is unjustified.

Ok Ichadhari-you are entitled to your opinion. As I am!

-Under-preparedness/lack of preparedness...lets not get into petty semantics!!.Its only an entertainment show, not a war of words!
-Hind sight bias? Well! That is the fun of hind sight!

BTW-I'll stand by my original "stand/opinion/POV...et all ! (Da*n Semantics!!)

Why did Karan quit the show? 😳
well, he quit because he was suffering from health issues.

Why did he suffer health issues? 😕
well, because he is was not mentally and physically prepared for this game and isn't ready to survive in such conditions.

Then why did he participate in the show ?
Coz he is an over-confident loser. He thought he will easily sail through but when he was tested for physical strength, he turned out to be worst than Michael.
