You and your family and your Dravidian clan didn't suffer, by your own admission you are south Indian therefore more than couple of thousands miles away from action, you never had to face invader neither your state was partitioned..you have no painful past, your family members were not killed neither they had to leave their ancestral villages or land...therefore stop patronizing.

I was not talking to you in the first place...I know this is an open forum. Since you were not part of the partition..it is morally wrong for you to patronize me. ..since we don't have common past it is best not to jump in to patronize.

Indian has its own adi-wasi..or tribal people they are the original Indians,..they were killed centuries ago some still remain and you see them parading and dancing in 26th january parade they are similar to native australites ..Dravidians did come before Aryans but they are not the original people.

Why do people need to drag Indo-Pak history into all this ..I have said this before - keep the past out of it !
India Suffered , Pakistan Suffered . We have pain , they have pain . Both side has stories to be told .> So what . this is not the platform for this discussion . the partition effected EVERYONE ! So chill ! this is not the place for all this ..

And INDIA-FORUMS is for EVERYONE ! the first friend i made on here was a Pakistani ! most of the group of friends I have on IF are Pakistani -VIP, Be A Rebel , Penta , Rukhaya . They respect me , I respect them ! And yes they are ALL ON this SK Forum !!!!

Why can't you all have a health Discussion without getting personal and attacking each other. this is sooo shameful !

I seriously hope, we all can have difference of opinion , have discussions and debates but healthy ones. No need for personal attacks , Indo-pak war stories. stick to the topic and issues!

FYI - i am a born and Raised New yorker ! .. and this thread has been reported . 😃

If you are a New yorker ...why would you report the thread..nobody is forcing you to participate...why such need to control..

Okay fine priya_990 is not the part of it! But I'm...my ancestors have to leave India! They migrated first to east Pakistan n then to west(my mom's side) n my grandparents from India to west Pakistan! I originally belong to Lucknow ! And my grandparents were belonged to royal family! In fact my dadi had this huge haveli n her own schools, n lands where fruits and everything were grown! She was born with a golden spoon in her mouth! Can you imagine her leaving that place with my dada n starting their life with a scratch! She didn't had any idea what is going to happen in future! But still Thanks to Allah over here we are spending a great life! I'm brought up hearing stories of British India from my both grandparents!

April2007 you are not alone part of this pain! I do co-exists with you!

Because this history lessons have nothing to do with Sur Ksherta ! Its not a need to control , its just things are getting out of hand , do u really want to dwell and continue arguing back and front all night with someone about who suffered more. Pain is subjective and can't be measured in Numbers or newspaper articles . Why is it so critical to bring up the past ?

Everyone suffers but why relive those painful memories everyday . this is just a Public forum . were people come together to discuss and talk about the show.

i am all in for debates and arguments But healthy ones about the topic at hand. No need to Indo-Pak war stories and Personal Attacks .

Gosh!!! Itni si post ka kia fasana bana dia logoon nay... So Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was right, these two nations couldn't live togather... you guys are proving...
I am a very proud Pakistan and a very proud Muslim, however I'm living in Australia but my roots are somewhere in India and Pakistan... I will never ever said a bad word about indians or india because my grands parents belong from there... But if anybody will pull my tail I'll definitely teach him/her lesson...
Indian history writers distroy the history... If Muslim Emperior wanted Hindustan not remained Hindustan in 850 years of ruling but it is still Hindustan... They respect each and every culture here. But sorry to say mindset of people there are still 850 years old!!! I dont want to argue but could anybody told me how is the ratio of Muslims in government services, parliament, educational institutions, and in business sector in India??? Aren't you people still taking revenge of past 850 years from those poor people???

i am an Indian and that is enough for me to understand my country's pain and suffering even if it may not have directly affected me.
we refers to Indians, not North Indians or South Indians...

I can..

.My whole clan each and every member of my family use to live in west punjab ..now pakistan..our whole history and family stories are from that part of the pakistan..they were all very well off..even now our whole family narratives is from west punjab..each and every story is linked to our land and our ancester, who lived for centuries in that part ..in Rawalpindi, Gujrat Kashmir and in Lahore and some in Karach..they had no intention of leaving...their houses were burned and some were killed they ran with clothes on their back, they were chased out..they were pursued by gun trotting muslims..they even decided to kill their daughters because they were unable to save them, but fortunately the daughters were saved.

\Majority of the punjabis I know ran with clothes on their back. I know many families whose fathers, brothers were killed and daughters jumped in the well to save honor..

We still think of west punjab as our ancestral home..all the stories and family narratives are linked with the land of Punjab that is part of Pakistan. You can call Pakistan your country but that land has been home to our families for generations..
Starting topics such as these are good, we need to learn the true history not shy away from truth, acknowledge it and then try move on..with acknowledgement of the pain that still persists we cannot build any bridges.

In the migration process we suffered with the same pain, sister of my grandfather burned herself because she didn't have any other options when hindus with kirpaans killed her two son 3 years old and 2 months old in front of her eyes... she had the only option to save her honor to killed herself...
My grandparents left massive business of carpets and textile there and big houses in Bareli and in Muradabad... the pain is same so don't say only you suffered with this... we started with scratched here too... and Alhamdolillah we get morethan from india...

I can say the same
My family was from east Punjab
They had to run
But point is healing ourself for the better
I'm kind of shocked ur Punjabibecause u should know how peaceful and loving people we r
and our history is very amazing
England caused a lot of problems
Undivided Punjab was amazing from what I hear
People were happy
We need to move on 4 the better
