I finally saw the olv and I don't know whether to laugh or cry when the pandit said 7 days! They've not even filed yet! Even getting a petition on the docket will take longer than that.
Just take a leap, na? Credit your viewers with some intelligence, be halfway responsible, and do a leap.
RESEARCH PLEASE, CVS, if you don't know.
It's really very simple. You go to your browser. You click on Google or your preferred search engine. You enter your term and trouble your finger just a teeny bit more. Click, read, scroll. That should give you the answer that the MINIMUM period for getting a divorce by mutual consent under the Hindu Marriage Act (and here Yuvraj is still sitting on the papers, which, to my limited knowledge, would not be valid anyway because they were signed under a misconception) is 6 months. Any disagreement between the couple, and it can go to years before it's granted.
I know we've said this before. Lord knows we've seen it on tv--and in ssel--before, but it's showing contempt for viewers to persistently ignore facts that mislead God knows how many people. I'm saying this because someone commented to me (in real life) about someone else getting a divorce like it happens overnight.
As for that cow Lata, nautanki kahin ki! Suhani has no brains. Just say 'Okay, mummy. Tu ser toh mein sava-ser. I'm going to my room to commit suicide. Ab kya kehna hai?' This is the problem with too many Asian parents/family members: they think they know best, they impose their ideas and use cheap emotinal blackmail as leverage. And too many adult children bow to these tactics. And too many serials show this kind of thing like it's just the norm.
Chhee, shame on Lata, and also Bhavna, who seemed anxious for Su to agree. In fact, only Pankaj seemed worried. So again a type of misogyny in this show--all the women are dumb/stupid/manipulative/scheming/evil. No thought for her daughter--like Pratima, she knows best and wants her way regardless. What does she know about Rohan? Has she even bothered to look beyond what he shows her?
Tripathi and Hegde need to go back to whichever writing school they learnt their 'craft' from. Giving 1 good scene or episode and showing trash for days and weeks is not good writing. Someday they'll run out of the already low stock of goodwill.
What a show this could have been! And what a disaster it's turned into.
