I was actually pretty hopeful of the new Ragini. In past shows, the second actors have made the roles their own and become hugely popular as a result.
Does anyone remember Jigyasa from kasamh se? The actress known for that role, Ashwini Kalsekar, was actually the second actress to portray the character (if I recall correctly) and she's pretty much iconic at this point. Nobody even remembers the previous actress!
On a similar note, does anyone remember the old Tanveer from Qubool Hai? No? Didn't think so. Most everyone remembers only Amrapali Gupta!
Unfortunately, the new Ragini is a huge disappointment. Not only was the acting subpar, but her look wasn't right. I feel like they should have gone older or with someone with more attitude? No disrespect to the actress, I just don't think she's right for the role :/
