Posts of Banned Members!!

Dear IF Dev Team members!!

Good Morning!

I have a request:

Can the posts of banned members be displayed?

Say we have a topic posted by a member and a good discussion takes place on it .

After somedays one fateful day that member gets banned for doing some mischeif or for not following the rules of IF.

Obviously,after severe warnings the person will be banned and in that persons posts,av "reason for their banning and will be written" their posts will not be seen.

Why should the posts made by a banned member be banned?

Other day I was seriously digging old topics of DM and suddenly I found the content of the original post missing as that member is banned.

If the posts made by the person are bad then all the posts made by that person should be automatically locked.

Say a person behaves well in one forum of IF and misbehaves in another forum of IF.So banning good posts .....is it logical!!

I'm concerned about this issue sooo much becoz...I hang around in DM soooo much,I post somany topics!!!

What if our Moderater Sowmyaa gets irritated and bans Mythili_kiran😉,so many blank posts will be seen in DM!!!

Can you consider this issue(not about banning Mythili )

yeah i guess ur kinda right 😛

normally most of the banned members don't have that many "good" posts. They are normally found using inappropriate language. Now, we could go and edit each of their posts where they had used such language...but we are human and there are too many members.

However, there are times when the member that is banned has different reasons for being banned...so for that, we need to ask admins to make such a rule where those posts are visible.

Lets wait for Belle to reply on this though. :)

Coming to your questions, many banned members have very many filthy posts and it is necessary that they are not seen to the public. Agreed that they might have some good posts, but who has the time to look through their posts and find out the good and the bad and edit them? It is time consuming. But most often, the banned members have many bad posts to their credit.

Check the posts of some of the banned members in DM they are really wonderful!!

Banned members posts should be banned only from the forum they "are banned" !!!

or all the posts of banned members must be locked automatically else crazy people like me will dig out old good topics and bring them out !!!

I agree to sum extent. Bec generally the members who are banned do not have much good posts. I mean the modz dont really ban any1 just for the sake of it.. A lot of warnings have been given to that person and only after that the person is banned. So i guess we cant really expect much from them. But den again, dey mite have sum good posts to their credit. Well maybe, we can just ban them and make their posts unviewable from those forums in which they have been misbehaving. Modx do think abt it!!
