I observed something. The author name which is being displayed is the first username with which I registered on this site.

Is this intenational or a bug?

Whatever it is i thinking of my username to the old one. It is good

Its the Display Name (can be set through Settings page)

will the ff automatically go to pending if its not updated for certain period of time? or does the writer have to do it themselves?

I think pending here refers to a chapter/story where you have some content written but not fully. in such scenarios, you don't want to share incomplete stuff. Hence, you can keep it in pending

well in that case we should also have a label for the ffs which have been discontinued or not updated for a certain amount of time

We have. There are four tags Ongoing, Completed, Pending and abandoned. The tag Abandoned can be used for such stories.
