Ability to delete own posts

I posted in the GA thread, but I think since that thread has so many comments it would be easier to create a new topic here.

Can we have the ability to delete our own posts? I think a user should at least have that much control over their posts. If they can chose to comment, they should be able to chose to delete as well.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Yes it is a good idea!! Users should be able to delete their own posts & threads!! I have seen many times where a user opens a thread, only to edit it & wanting it closed!!

Yes...it is a good idea...Many times, due to our poor Internet conditions and other technical problems, we happen to post in wrong places, double post something. So, it will be great if we can delete our own posts..Many unnecessary posts would be gone in this way..

Yes. One reason is when you made that post accidentally or if you open a thread and a war erupts in it. Many forums don't have DTs nowadays and GMs are not that active or don't check their PMs and reporting is going in vain too.

So if it occurs that your thread turns into a war zone, deleting your main post would delete the thread and the problem would be dealt with. Especially if the forum has no DT.

Yes very good idea and yes i agree if we can post then we can delete too right. Hope Vijay sir takes into consideration this suggestion.

i think its much needed one ,suppose if we post on wrong thread we need to edit like "WRONG POST'" or if we made wrong forum we need to req the mods to close the topic ,however its not likable ,so we need a option to delete our own post

Yes, very good idea, there should be an option to delete own post by members. If not for the main topic post but it should be for other reply reply post so that if member posted reply accidentally in wrong thread or want to delete his/her reply willingly then he/she should be able to delete it.
