Few members facing problem accessing IF

Hi Friends,

Few members have sent me a PM that they are reaching to the old server.

Well I just want to clarify that this is not our site problem but some more like a ISP Nameserver record caching problem.

Many ISPs cache NS records for longer period of time and updates it from 12-72 hrs. This is the main reason why few of the members are reaching the old Server.

Though majority of the ISPs have taken the new server data but incase you are still facing problem accessing our site through direct URL (www.india-forums.com) then do mail me with your ISP and your location detail so that we can mail them to refresh their nameserver.

Hi Friends,

I just got a suggestion from my friend that we can flush the DNS cache from our end also.

Method:

Step 1: Go to MS-DOS Command Prompt (Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt)

Step 2:

type: IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS

Step 3: To test if you are now pointing to the new server. Try to ping India-Forums.com

Type: PING WWW.INDIA-FORUMS.COM

It should show something like this with the new IP 67.18.159.229

=====================

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping www.india-forums.com

Pinging www.india-forums.com [67.18.159.229] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 67.18.159.229: bytes=32 time=320ms TTL=253
Reply from 67.18.159.229: bytes=32 time=320ms TTL=253
Reply from 67.18.159.229: bytes=32 time=319ms TTL=253
Reply from 67.18.159.229: bytes=32 time=319ms TTL=253

Ping statistics for 67.18.159.229:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 319ms, Maximum = 320ms, Average = 319ms
