Personal Life:
Sanaya Irani was born into a Parsi family in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on September 17, 1983. Her parents live in Mumbai and she has two siblings, who are settled in the USA. She is in a relationship with her co-star from Miley Jab Hum Tum, actor Mohit Sehgal.

Early Career:

Sanaya Irani spent seven years in a boarding school in Ooty.^[3] Following this, she graduated from Sydenham College^, Mumbai. After graduation, she wanted to pursue an MBA degree but upon her mother's advice, she entered the glamour world of ads and modelling. Sanaya's first portfolio was done by veteran actor Boman Irani.

During her modelling career, Sanaya did many TV advertisements with Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan.
EverYouth Fruit Face Wash, Fairglow, Dabur Honey, Reliance Balmonte, Slice Mangola are some of the advertising projects Sanaya has done. She realized she wanted to express herself more through acting which she couldn't do in a few seconds of advertisement time. That's when she forayed into acting with her first video song, Jagjit Singh's Tumko Dekha To Yeh.

Television:
She made her acting debut with a cameo in the Yash Raj Film blockbuster movie Fanaa in 2006, where she played the character of Bebo. Right after, Sanaya made her television debut with SAB TV's popular show Left Right Left as Sameera Shroff, an army cadet. In 2008, Sanaya made an appearance in Radhaa Ki Betiyaan on NDTV Imagine, where she played the role of a rich spoilt brat, a character with negative shades. In 2008 she landed the role of the shy, introvert, socially awkward small town girl, Gunjan in STAR One's popular hit show Miley Jab Hum Tum (2008-2010). Gunjan was Sanaya's first lead role as a protagonist and her role and pairing with her real life beau Mohit Sehgal was greatly appreciated. The turning point in Sanaya's TV career came with her brilliant portrayal of Khushi Kumari Gupta, the bubbly, crazy and loud female protagonist of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? (2011-2012). Khushi and Arnav became a huge hit with audiences not only in India but other countries as well. The role of Khushi Kumari Gupta made Sanaya a household name. After that she went on to play the role of a vivacious and modern girl in Chhan Chhan on Sony TV. After Chhanchhan ended, in late 2013, Sanaya cameback to TV as Paro in Colors show Rangrasiya. Even though the show did not do well TRP wise, the character of Paro and Rudra was immensely loved and became hugely poplular. Sanaya's portrayal of the shy, demure, passionate village belle earned her a lot of appreciation among fans and brought forth her versatility as an actress. Rangrasiya also had her play the role of the modern foreign return Myra after Paro's death. After Rangrasiya ended in September 2014, fans are eagerly awaiting her return back to TV. Sanaya's portrayal of such diverse characters in Miley Jab Hum Tum, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Rangrasiya has made her one of the most well-known and admired actresses of Indian television.

Recognition :

Sanaya Irani has received 'Face of The Year' awards three times. She has been the only television actress to be included in People's Magazine (India) forty most beautiful women in 2011-12. She ranked the 3rd Sexiest Asian Women in a UK based internet poll in 2014.

In October 2014, she was invited back to UK to receive the First Asian Viewers Television Awards (AVTA) Female Personality of the Year Award for the role of Paro in Rangrasiya.

Reality shows and other appearances

During Miley Jab Hum Tum, Sanaya appeared as one of the contestants in the reality show Meethi Chhori no. 1. She also briefly hosted the second season of Zara Nachke Dikha on STAR Plus with boyfriend Mohit Sehgal in 2010. After Iss Pyar ko kya Naam Doon, Sanaya appeared as a contestant in Welcome-Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi ki, hosted by Ram Kapoor. The actress was seen in Week One of the reality show opposite Ragini Khanna, Nigar Khan and others. In 2013, she also hosted Zee TV's Valentine's Day special Ishq Wala Love with Karan Grover. In 2012 she was welcomed by a huge crowds in Birmingham, London and Leicester in UK and in Los Angeles, USA during meet and greet sessions with fans and other promotional activities.
