Why bhaiyaa? No answers for us kya? 😲

What about the 'little' promise you made for today? Just one standardised template and thats it? 😲

One group can't be held accountable for the daily drama whether it is the haters or the cynics or the neutral members or the fans. Even when we are convinced we are quite "neutral" we have ALL been guilty in the past. It takes hardly one topic for someone to bash the show/actor/or member for their opinion while others sit and eat popcorn on the sidelines.

This has never been a one sided story. Sometimes it may appear that way if you provide enough evidence to portray that side, but in all my time spent here I have seen the worse side of everyone. The best thing to do is login, post a message and logout. Don't get attached to the place. It doesn't take long for members to start attacking you and some of them you may mistakenly even consider friends.

In the past there have been times when a few moderators have bullied members and when members demanded change - in return the topic is locked and members have been told they are not supposed to create "member based topics" or "moderator based topics" that such discussions were best dealt with in PM's which have really led to NOTHING.

Today's fun fact: Did you know at one point admin's had no knowledge of ad's placed on the website?!

That is the main issue. Show or actors aren't beyond the members of the forum. Bashing of the members is what most of us are against. Shows/actors are our means of entertainment not other way round. So even if someone doesn't like a show or actor or even bashes them, why do fans feel the need they have power and right to bash the members. That is what most of are trying to get it to stop.

End of the day, we are humans and I don't believe anyone can remain unattached. Our emotions are always on high whether we spend 5 mins or 5 hours on the site. Thus "member bashing" needs to stop.

I do not really know how many of you will agree with me on this one but I feel that 'member rights to privacy and safety' should be prioritised over other issues like calling an actor as 'Gober' 'Piglet' or 'Soaptea'.

No member should take law in their own hands and start harrasing a fellow member just because they do not agree with their standpoint. Take this topic as an example

How can you allow the fangirls to trash talk about the fellow members? I'm sure they're not acting as some bodyguards and if their fangirl-ISH sentiments are somehow 'hurt', they shouldn't participate or if they do, watch out their manners.

Vijay, how about addressing this issue in the next Global Announcement? How about warning the 'higher-ups' to quit letting their judgement be impaired just because they are fan of some XYZ celebs

^Lets get real. Celeb worship is not new for the world whether real or virtual. So too is hate mongering against these very celebs for whatever reason, especially on a cyber platform anonymously. IF is primarily meant to discuss shows and celebs but since there are moderators in place, the max they can do without going nuts is curtailing bashing/name calling resorted to by either fans or non-fans. Love for celebs no matter how unpalatable to others doesn't hurt anyone by itself as insults do.
When we write unsavory things about celeb/show/fandom, the fans rise to their defense and most often attack the OP personally. If they wish to retaliate, they can do it civilly saying we don't agree but most are immature, so they get personal since they only have these TMs to deal with and not any favorites of theirs as easy targets. The moot question is...why go to such lengths to evoke such responses?
Expecting to see a GA condemning such fanatic droolings and personal attacks while defending celebs is a noble cause but looking from the point of view of the dynamics of such open internet fora, if it comes by anytime soon, my respect for the owner will increase. But hey, I have seen enough of this world to not be expecting so much sense, unbiasness and fairness in a realm of democracy where freedom of speech is justly curtailed for maintaining public order.

Ok its pretty clear now
He has no guts to come out and warn fangirls as his business will be hit
Neither does he have any answers or anything to discuss or to make a point that we are wrong in such instances with the so called hate mongers as he very well knows the real picture
So he has the only option to play hide and seek with us.

I see only four people 'liked' Vijay's post. That speaks volume for the number of posts with a large number of likes compared to Vijay's. Saara aunty liked the post as well. Surprise, surprise. 😆

You cannot really expect fair decisions from moderators who themselves are a fan of some XYZ celebs. It's an independence threat and they cannot be objective. Everyone has freedom of speech. If a particular member believes that the some XYZ soap-opera actor cannot make it big in film industry, no member has a right to humiliate him for his personal viewpoints. I'm sure Vijay wants to grow his virtual business and Alas only fangirls can be used as means to an end. However this should not result in ethically questionable decisions being made e.g. Ignoring the cyber harrassment. Maybe it could be a bit harsh for his short term profits but you never know, ignoring it all together might result in cyber-harrassment case being slapped on him by some disgruntled member. Not just a global announcement but even the selection criteria of higher-ups need to be revisited. IQ tests should be conducted if neccessary. It's quite saddening to see some teenage fangirls on such positions and what's even more saddening is to see how they abuse the powers vested to them. Agree with your last paragraph.
