How does the 'Join Dev Team' thing work?

I was just curious, almost all forums, I've seen the Join Dev team link. Honestly, I have been wanting to try many a times, but my friend tried out once, but she got no response. Whether it be positive or Negative, no one got back. What is the exact aim behind the Join Dev team button when people are chosen at random for joining the Dev team? Just to give us an "impression" that people are allowed to try out? I'd like to know how actually this thing works.

Edit: I tried out for one section, but got no response as well. So what do I concur from that? Please do kindly explain.

Hmm my question is the same, I've applied for it few times for different sections too.But at the ened i was told that Members are selected and suggested by GM's and Admins, So i don't see the point of that thing anyway. I want atleast the response in simple Yes or No 😃

^^Exactly. Atleast they owe us an answer. And if GMs are to be deciding who joins the Dev team, then why is that Join the Dev team link been put up in every section? Would it not be nice if it were removed then?

Well I am not sure if they do look at thing or not, But i mean the applications must be flooded, I'm sure because I'm sure large number of people must have applied for them. But if they aren't genna look at it, then no point having them, Specially if the members are suggested and chosen by GM's and Admins 😃 !

But I don't have details of these things too much ! But If you are interested and if the section have a CM or Existing Mod talk to them 😉

^^I guess that's all I could do. I tried out for two sections, but got no response. So if it is so difficult for them to review each application, they should simply remove that link. I mean, atleast it wouldn't give us common members the impression that we can actually join the dev team. Isn't it obvious enough? Funny, the GMs might be unaware of those handful who are deserving enough, and so they get ignored.

Hmm i tried for two sections too, Infact i worked really hard too and the GM's were aware of it, but still ....

Hmm, Well i don't know, I think that GM's put that up so memebers won't send pm to GM's asking to Join the Dev Team, they must have thought it would have been easier for that but they still haven't stopped their old system for choosing DT Members. I mean there are people who does misuse their powers. So we can't blame them. But yes there are handful who are deserving enough gets ignored here 😃

Yeah, I'd like an answer to that too. Before I got promoted (which didn't have anything to do with those application forms at all. I was recommended..) I filled out two of them. Never got an answer... :|

Mimi, I was told a member (I'm guessing a CM or GM) gets these applications. Now if the members look over them or even acknowledge them, I don't know. I'm not sure that what I was told was right, though...
