He didn't respond to any of their pleas...When the wailing of the three mothers; the innumerable requests of his brother Shatrughan couldn't move him from his word of honour; it would be futile to imagine that he would listen to hers? What with blessed code of conduct and ethics of a Raghuvanshi!! Mandavi wanted to scream and hit and scratch everyone around her, was there absolutely none who could put an end to the madness? Oh! How she wished she could've slept on like her cousin and not witness her own widowhood! History would probably remember her as the only woman, who stood mute when her very alive' husband chose to end his life in front of an audience lighting up a funeral pyre for himself!! What an irony!! Dear God! Was she that unlikable a character that nobody ever stopped to think twice about her! Not her parents; neither her mothers in law nor her sisters; she laughed almost cynically NOT EVEN HER HUSBAND!
