Oh God !
I have watched skr after around a month
And I get to see one brilliant episode
Both kumbhakaran and vibhisan stole my heart
Both talked about dharma and karma
But one thing that went on the right beaf was

Dharma is what you wear ..internally and externally
You wear the things only when you know about them
The thing which makes you comfortable
that makes you what you are

A person who is taught to be on the other side will always find his side right
Contrary to This view is the view of vibhisan
This reminds me of my lesson when we were talking about india and Pakistan and one of us had asked why does Pakistan do it ?
To which mam said
Ask the people there
They will say why does india do this
Much of the fact is
Dharma and adharma exist together
Are situational
And need a balance to be maintained properly

The kumbhakaran vibhishan scene was really one of the highlights of the entire series , definately one of the top 5 scenes till now
Both actors displayed wonderfully the dilema of each brother

Highlight of today's episode was again Prakriti and Sanskriti. Kumbharan says Dharm is decided by a person's caste, place and time. It changes. Vibishan says Dharma is not something that changes with time. It is constant. It clearly showed the contrast of the brothers. Kumbhakaran who wants to follow the Sanskriti that ever changes according to your place, caste, religion and time. Vibishan talks about Prakriti whose laws are constant. The application of which is not considered based on the race, gender or place. But time, time matters to Prakriti too.

But how does Prakriti and Sanskriti differs in looking at time. Prakriti at any point is in present. It observes the present action. It allows you change your action at any point of time so that your results also changes. Prakriti doesn't question you, Prakriti doesn't shout at you. It observes, it directs.

Sanskriti it is either in past or looks into future. It doesn't look at present. Sanskriti doesn't allow you to come out of past karma. A criminal is a criminal. A widow is a bad omen. If you have a girl think about her marriage, dowry, so abort her in the womb. Arrey your daughter can also be a Sania Mirza or a Saina Nehwal. Just allow her to be born. If it is a son he should go to US. Arrey what if he wants to serve his motherland. It is always taking decisions before hand without understanding the repurcussions. Parents wanted kids to go to US. Pushed them, pulled them , made them ambitious to go abraod. They went and when the parents languish here alone complain kids are not looking. Who is to blame. The child or the parent who made the child materialistic. This is the way we make our choices with half knowledge and when it manifests sit and cry. Complain. So for Sanskriti complaints never ends. It is always about what I don't have. But Prakriti it is bountiful. It always has. If you stop complaining you will be able to see this constant law and bountiful Prakriti.

The way Kumbhkaran looked at Vibhishan and Angad is the way Sanskriti looks at people who follow Prakriti. Cheaters, back stabbers etc. Reason they are the ones because of which the existing bad sanskriti collapses. Sanskriti doesn't mind frighteneing people who want to follow Prakriti and utilize them. Like Shakuni uses Bhishma, Drona and Karna. But reverse not acceptable.

This has been our conflict also and this is why we should always ask guidance so that if we follow Prakriti Lord gives us protection from Sanskriti's assaults.

Ram said a beautiful post about choices. I will make a separate post on it.

@Charvi remember what Sita says. Dharma is that what you wear it. You rightly said it has to be same external and internal.
What can be the same external and internal. It is the constant law. Vibishan is against Ravan and he comes to Ram. Thus he matches external and internal. Freewill
Asuras who agree with Ravan, they are also same both external and internal adharma. Selfishness.
Where does Kumbhakarna stand. His internal is with dharma as he is against his brother, but in external he goes for his brother. This is hypocrisy. When you choose Sanskriti and perish. Sanskriti understands Kumbhakarna and what Sanskriti expects is also Kumbhakarna. Vibhishan and Angad terrifies Sanskriti.

I also think the episode was about how, matter what, you can't lose your ideals and your morals.
More than actions, your morals define you.
Vibhishan was defined by the fact that he chose what he believed in, rather than Lord Rama over Ravana. To Kumbhakaran, he viewed Vibhishan as a traitor to Ravana, but it was more to do with the fact that Vibhishan stood for what he felt was right, what was just.

I actually think that Vibhishan wasn't against Ravana, he was against his actions.
He did care for Ravana, that much is obvious from the fact that he pleaded with him many times, to undo the actions he had done.
He went to Lord Rama because he felt He was in the right.
He shows that one should stand for what's right.
Losing one's morals means losing one's identity.
You are what you believe.

@kanhaki chutki your morals has to manifest as actions to see where you stand with respect to your principals.
Yes you are right. Vibishan was not against his brother, but his actions. But then when it comes to relations people only want to see relation, not the action
