What a beautiful line and so much truth in depth. BG says concentrate on action not on results. Laxman want to protect his bhaiya and bhabi and he thought if he sacrifice sleep he can do that. So his concentration was not the present but the entire 14 years by sacrificing sleep he will give protection.
Was he able to do. Answer is big no. Prakriti showed him the failure of going against her. He couldnt protect his bhabi. Sita apaharan happened. War in Lanka happened which was destruction. Agnipareeksha happened and again the rest of life his bhaiyya led a lonely life without his bhabi.

Seva can be done without going against Prakriti. Hanuman has done it. He was inline with Prakriti's rule. He understood her, and he understood sanskriti. That's why Hanuman says society can seperate Ram and Siya and even Ram can send away Siya, but for Hanuman it is always Siya Ram. They cannot be seperated in his heart. He is the one who has completely understood the inter play of prakriti and sanskriti. And that's why he is kept as the best example of seva bhav. His bhakti in seva bhav is the one which is said to be worth following if you want to serve God as a sevak.

SKR is beautifully showing the results of going against Prakriti. In every case how Prakriti shows Sanskriti its place.

Shruti, Lakshman 's sacrifice and samarpan was total. He balanced nature by having Urmila sleep for his share. This combined seva by the husband and wife is an example of what couples with one thought of serving God can acheive. They make the impossible, possible.
The act of going against nature was not by Lakshman but was initiated by Jaya Vijaya in vaikuntha when they went against the nature of being non discriminatory and stopped the sanat Kumars considering them to be kids. This act against what was the nature of those in Vaikuntha was what led to the destruction.

Had Lakshman slept like normal people then too Siya Ram would have met the same fate. They descended earth for a certain purpose and that would have taken place regardless of anything.

However there is one lesson to be learned, Lakshman did everything a man can do to protect his brother and sister in law. He went to the extreme and no one can argue that he left any stone unturned to ensure their happiness and well being yet they met a not so happy ending. Sita was kidnapped, questions were raised on her chastity and eventually Ram and Sita were separated. This shows that no matter how much a man tries to protect his loved ones after a point he has to resign to fate. All of this happened despite Lakshman doing his best to ensure their safety.

There is famous saying 'Hoyi wohi jo Ram rachi rakha' - whatever Ram (God) has designed that only will take place.

nice post shruthi..
When nidra devi asking about a person to sleep instead of him , he choose urmila only not his mother or someone else , in the hope that she will accept it. Urmila to accept it happily to support her husband's dedication towards his brother and bhabhi
This hope and trust must be needed in the relationships which is missing nowadays.

SKR cvs giving nice messages thru dialogues in various episodes 👏

I had this gut feeling that you would be writing about this line only and well it came true😊
Lakshman is a person who can go to any extent to serve his bhaiya and bhabhi..that includes killing people, going against nature but hanuman as you pointed, would serve them following the rules ...
But still I feel what is important is the intention and both were equal in that respect

See I have never intended to question Lakshman's samarpan. What I told was in his decision to not sleep lay the conviction that he can protect his bhaiya and bhabi.
@justlikethat yes Urmila compensated. But even that is against nature. Yes they were together supportive of each other as a couple. One understanding the other. But then it never achieved what was intended was my take
@hema if you look from a hus-wife relation perspective that was a beauty. I am happy it is Ramayana else Urmila would have looked confused and will be thinking Mata Sumitra ka kya hoga. Mein achi bahu kaise banugi 😆😆😆( Hope you get the point 😉)
@sumedha when we say everything in our power does that mean going against natural law. We circumvent the natural law the way we want to get the results we desire. When I was watching star MB there was a beautiful scene between Shakuni and Krishna. Playing of dice. Where Shakuni decides the number he wants and Krishna deciding when to throw dice. Doesnt matter what the number is. That when is the key. Time. Present and only present matters there. I have watched it "n" times to absorb it. To understand it. Most beautiful visual representation of Karmayana karya varyasthe maa phaleshu kadachana. Lakshman has looked at the numbers now and not whether the dice is thrown at the right time.

@antika I am eagerly waiting for Ram-Hanuman. My heart says certain answers I am searching I will get in that milan.

If sita would not have forced lakshman to leave then sita kidnapping ravan would not have occured. For 13 years lakshman served ram and sita day and night. Because they were in van dont know how and when a trouble would come, so he was ready to face the problem first and giveup his life at any moment, hanuman is shiv aansh and at younger age he received all powers from thri murthis and in ramayan each and every sacrifice and devotion towards ram was different but wat every they do was to shower respect care otheir beloved ram.

As pointed by you ( Shruti), what a truthful statement !
So very apt for these days when the human race is just doing the same and inviting the nature's fury .

A very nice bonding between Lakshman and Urmila again for a selfless cause ! Both of them contributing their share to the greater cause of Ravan vadh !
They portray an ideal couple with their selfless sacrifice but with a strong love and faith in one another .it was good to see a emotional Lakshman today especially after their meet at Chitrakoot .

Though all his sacrifice could not stop the unstoppable Apaharan , it was not his fault !
Ravan would one way or the other succeeded as he did equip himself of all the Mayaavi Shakthi earlier .

Another point that was earlier discussed by you Shruti , Kaikeyi 's role ! Well seems to have started to show up .
Indeed it was nice to note the way Mandavi compliments Lakshman for his determined Seva bhav !
Beautiful episode !
All the actors were very good .

Well said Shruthi. Breaking of nature's rules is what had lead to the present scenario of consistent natural disasters leading to loss of lives and property.
All the main characters in Ramayan have sort of gone against nature resulting in their lives being affected irrevocably. Dhashrath goes against her by sacrificing his daughter to beget sons and in the long run he looses them resulting in his demise. Kaikeyi goes against nature by rejecting her love for Ram and the result is chaos. Sita goes against her only once by wanting the golden deer and is kidnapped by Ravan. Ram almost destroys the Sagar when he fails to listen to Ram's pleas and when Sita goes back to mother earth. Both the times he is brought back to awareness at the right time. Lakshman goes against her and never perhaps loses his guilt at both Sita's kidnapping as well as her banishment.

Lakshman and Urmila did wat they cud do to the maximum for doing their duties. They are the best example of the extreme extent that one can go to perform or do something that one desires from heart. However, it is not always the desirable results that we get despite givin our heart and soul to the action. And dats wat wen the sayin gets its value 'wat to do, it's destiny'
However, I get your point of wat u want to convey dat despite their bestest efforts includin even goin against prakrati, both could not stop to wat all happened to SiyaRam. But dats again destiny.

Today, human beings know they are destroyin the nature, which in turn is leadin the nature to ecological imbalance. Nature shows its anger from time to time in the form of earthquake, volcanoes, Tornado, drought, floods, and the list is endless.

As said here in one post 'things are gonna happen the way God has designed them to be', God is takin the life on earth to its destiny. May be it is already decided that human race is gonna always act like this and this will in turn in lead to destruction and again the cycle of life will start from the beginning. We go against nature and we compensate as well (in the form of planting trees and risin awareness) to balance out the damage we are causin just like Lakshman did. But, watever balancin we are tryin, there is no denyin the fact that nature is gettin disturbed. Watever God wants to make the life on earth comes full circle, it is happening any way.
