Shruthi i just read r post on laxman's swadharma vs. meeg obstructing others' swadharma, it is to balance, etc...

taken like that, it does make some sense.. but still the execution of that scene bothers me.. its too brash to say the least

Thanks Shirley. When I had read Ramayana the scene where Sita insults Laxman is the most heart breaking. The way she asks him to go. I had always pondered can a loving bhabi be so harsh on her devar just like that. Can she accuse him so blatantly in one day.

Reason in real life nothing happens this fast. A friction always exist and a tipping point brings it out in full flow.

Currently the friction on bandhan and maryada is shown between Laxman and Sita. Laxman has understood it now. That's why he is telling he will keep protection which she can cross, but no one can enter, so that she does not have bandhan, but she has to exercise her freewill with knowledge.

But she loses out on understanding Sanskriti. Reason she has never faced asur on her own. some one came to her rescue.

I forgot one thing in yesterday episode. Surpi escaping. Ravan tried to keep her sister in bandhan. And look what happened. She broke the bandhan and now that is going to create havoc for Lanka.

When you keep people in bandhan or control one way or the other they break free and they will create such a mess that your world will come down.

Srutha nice question. Yesterday I was talking about Prahlad. The great devotee of Lord Vishnu. What does he do. His father wants him to chant hirnayaya namah. Boy chants Narayanaya namah. He is attacked from everywhere.

Does he succumbs. No. His own father tries to kill him multiple times. Does he change his faith. No. He keeps on chanting Narayanaya namah. If you see Prahalad is a classic example of a person who irrespective of life threat within the family didn't change his conviction and stood firm on his conviction and that conviction protected him at every turn finally Lord himself coming to protect his devotee and giving proof of his faith.

But how could Prahlad do that. How do he stay firm on his conviction in a hostile environment. Answer is knowledge. The knowledge of Narayana he got from Rishi Narad when he was in his mother's womb. Even at birth the boy knew Narayana deeply.

That is why I stress knowledge, the right knowledge. Importance of time. Living in present. A sense of duty without attachment. Because when you duty knowledge comes to you. Knowledge helps you survive.

Within the family also always ask direction to Lord. Direction will come. You will have to discerning to observe it. utilize it. Most importantly you have to get knowledge even to make use of the opportunity in front of you.

Krishna could only bring Jayadrath in direct line of fire. Arjun had to send the arrow. He was supposed to have the Pasupathastra with his effort. So spend effort on education. No knowledge is useless. No education is useless. Whatever education you are getting lap it up. Respect it even if that is not your first choice.

If you respect knowledge, the path will open for more knowledge and only through knowledge you can cut bandhan in constructive way
