@DD I have replied to your PM. Apologies couldn't do yesterday because as I said I am juggling things and though I watch epi I don't get time to come online and it is going to be like this. I have not much clue about AHP but I have PMed you on DAR decision analysis and resolution a similar concept which I have used in my projects for decision making.
Now coming to the episode. I would say it was a beauty in every level. @Rex nice to know that you are connecting practical things. It is good. Actually that is the best learning you can get from epics
@Shivam you are so correct about experience. Only Time teaches us that. That's why I say time is the most powerful thing in the universe. Even Karma comes calling at the right time
@Geena I loved your word. Lakshman understood beauty can be deceiving. Yes he will see the deceit in the beauty of the golden deer. Lakshman as a person is a good observer and quick learner and a very practical person.
@Charvi just try challenging him, you will get immediately something
@Savitha did you notice when Ram kills one Asur, the other takes the shape of a snake and disappears. Sita doesn't notice this and misses on the most important knowledge. Sanskriti can use Prakriti for deception. And for me it also meant metaphorically how the rules set by patriarichy have poisoned the thoughts of woman and made them door mats over centuries. Snake was what they showed.
My analysis on the episode. It had many messages. First let us take Ram-Lakshman Sita. Ram says to Sita in the Tue epi me and Lakshman are making a house. Make it a home. It was the beautiful representation of physical and emotional aspect of man -woman relation. Man providing the physical cover and women with her emotional strength completes the structure in real sense.
Now see what Lakshman says. Because of my mistake all effort lost. Our house is lost. Nature's fury takes it. They 3 survived but then the effort to rebuild what is lost has been huge. Today house was lost.
Tomorrow when Sita makes the mistake the home is lost. Her apaharan, her AP, her banishment. What home Ram had. Yes the kids come to him, but she goes back to earth.
Today Lakshman paid the price of his mistake in one day. Tomorrow Sita will pay her entire life for that mistake. And will the suffering be just that of her. It will be of Ram, it will be Lakshman, it will be for Shatrughnan.
When a man commits a mistake something physical is broken which can be rebuild if everyone stands together. When a woman commits a mistake it is the emotions that gets broken. It breaks from inside and it is impossible to build the same way.
Same way if a man commits a crime maybe one person is affected or a generation is affected, but when a woman commits a crime or supports a crime generations are affected.
What Kaikeyi did. Her kids and next generation kids paid the price. Yes she did the penance. But she couldn't prevent the way Luv-Kush were bought up away from palace.
With great power comes great responsibility. When we woman calls ourselves Shakthi we also need to know we have great responsibility with us. Because if we stray, the price will be huge for our own family. If we fall, the fort falls. Defense cannot fail.
Look at the way Ram reacted today. If something happens to you. If those Asurs were successful. The full concern was visible in him. It is as if, if she falls he too will fall and we will see this very evidently when Sita apaharan happens. Ram loses it, he breaks down like a child not seeing her. And it is said that till Hanuman keeps the chudamani in Ram's hand as a proof of Sita's existence, Ram is emotionally very very weak.
Now coming to the second part. Hanuman and Gandharva king. If you see I couldn't fault Gandharva king. Because when Hanuman keeps the proposal the first thing the Gandharva king tells is that this guy cannot take care of himself, how will he take care of my daughter. Yes a man caught snooping around, a man who simply does not talk anything , a man standing in a corner which father would feel confident to give such a man his daughter's hand in marriage.
We really have to compare the way Ram comes in front of Janaka. Before Ram the stories of Ram reach. Janaka has a very favourable opinion about the young man. And when he sees him the favorable opinion increases. Ram stands with his identity so are the other Ayodhya brothers.
Now look at Sugreeva, it is only when Gandharva king sees Hanuman he is a bit lenient to Sugreeva because of Hanuman's credibility. So Sugreeva doesn't have any credibility of his own, he needs others for the same. And look at him, once the king says no he goes. And what does Hanuman says the lady loves you and you are going even without making an attempt to win her hand.
To me Sugreeva came across as a noble man, who has long lived under the shadow of his superior sibling and has low self esteem and low confidence. But with the help of an intelligent friend like Hanuman he is trying to get back his identity and confidence. And yes it will happen. Because one of the key reasons that is being told for Ram killing Bali from behind is that kidnapping and keeping Ruma against her will , ousting Sugreev and misusing his boon that he will get half of his opponent's strength in a direct battle.
So once again we are shown the intelligence of Hanuman who gives importance to a person's free will.
