Guys I made this point in Arshics post, but Krishna feels I should make a separate post on it. Hence putting it as a separate post for discussion
I have always said women stands for Knowledge Wealth and Power or in other words Dharma, arth and Kama. And Dharma, Arth, Kama, Moksha are said to be Purusharth.
Look at the way they showed Ram-Sita today. Ram was standing atop the mountain and Sita comes from behind. In her own respectable way she tests him, and in equally respectable way he answers her. I loved the way he asked her she wanted to ask something, but hesitating and without fear she could ask him and he gives his words he will not be angry. I loved the halting way Sita asks the question of multiple wives and what about him. First Ram gives a generic answer, then she asks my question. That was a beauty. Her question was specifically to him. What about him. And he says he will have only one wife. She smiles. If you look Purusharth comes behind him. I mean a woman coming for a man means purusharth is coming for him. His qualities make every woman want to follow him. And when a woman comes behind him she is bringing along with her knowledge, wealth and power.
And look at Ravan. Seeing him women run away. She goes behind woman. Abuses them and goes away. He believes he has to go after Purusharth. Take it, use it and throw it. But then just like the curse he got one day the purusharth will go out of his control because there is a limit you can control something.
So in Ram and Ravan you can see the contrast of men. One who attracts Purusharth towards him, and other who thinks he can snatch and use Purusharth. Which one will last longer is anybody's guess.
Be a man behind whom Purusharth or an eligible good woman comes, than one who controls a woman.

My opinion...
Yesterday I saw two man... Both attracted to the woman

One man, Ram, when he met the woman he was attracted to by chance, he did not pursue her, he was respectful, did not make her uncomfortable, gave her importance by answering her questions. He controlled his basic urges/ animalistic instinct. Human beings are made of two part, man and animal. By controlling his animalistic instinct he proved he was more man, more in control of his actions and did not allow his body to dictate his mind. He controls his actions.

The other man, Ravan, he pursued the woman to exploit her sexually, he was not respectful, nor did he think her as an important being. He is more animalistic in nature, snatching / taking what he wants without regard. He does not control his actions, his actions control him.

The contrast of the scenes, were a beautiful depiction of how man should be.

@angel nicely put. One who controls actions and another whose actions control him. Yes the contrast couldn't have been better.

Wonderful post,Shruthi👏 And pls accept the greetings from this silent fan of yours.

The difference which you have highlighted between Ram and Ravan is not only the difference between two men but between two ideologies.Even in the contemporary world, both categories of men exist. Some view women as mere objects to be possessed, controlled and dominated. While there are others who value, respect and cherish them.

However just as you have written,Purusharth finds its way to the deserving man.Honestly,I pity Ravan. Not only could he respect women but also could not understand the worth of his virtuous wife Mandodari

@Thanks Astoria for the appreciation. yes agree to you we have in this world both ideologies. But the sad part of contemporary world is that epics like Ramayan and Mahabharath are used to propagate the men who use woman as objects.
Certain actions of Ram, Yudhi, Krishna twisted so much to propogate patriarchy. Ram's banishment of Sita, Krishna having multiple wives, Yudhi keeping Panchali as bet etc.. are misused to say the least.
Then Sita crossing Lakshman Rekha, Panchali causing war etc are driven so much into woman's mind that if a woman dares to question she will suffer is the take.
Actually men who support women, who emphatize with them, sincere and treating women with respect has to come out, pushing down the men who treat themselves a superiority race.
And the best way is to give them back using the same epic with which women were bounded for so long. To tell a man who demands Sita to go and become a Ram
Ravan had purusharth with him in his wife Mandodari, but alas he never realized it.
