There were so many things in today's epi which included how a king can drive change to making someone qualified to be a king. But today's post I will be dedicating to the lady I have very much admired in Ramayana. And today I admired her more. Sumitra the third wife of Dasrath from the kingdom of Kashi. A staunch devotee of Lord Mahadev. The problem solver. The gentle breeze. Always the giver. And today look at the way she handled things. She heard everything that happened between Dasrath and Kaikeyi. And her worry was not what will happen to them. Her worry was the issues between them will affect the children. She wanted the unity among brothers to weather the storm that was fast approaching. And look at what she did. Asked one of her children to accompany Bharath so that he doesn't feel alone. She didn't tell the real reason of her decision to anyone. She kept it to herself. She concentrated on the next generation. Because Dasrath and Kaikeyi she had no control over them. Kausalya she will unnecessarily feel sad if she hears about the vachan. But her children. Yes she had control over them. And she used that control in the most positive way. And I would say if Shanta with her vachan laid the foundation for brothers to be together, Sumitra just cemented that foundation with her action.
She kept a secret within her and used her power to bring in positivity to a situation that could have completely burned down if she had not send Shatrughna with Bharath.
Yudhajit and his father would have made Bharath a warrior and after some time alone away from his 3 brothers Bharath would have become one like them. Distant. It happens when you are in a certain environment for a long time. But presence of Shatrughna in that environment ensured Bharath is never cut off from Ayodhya. The love he shared with his brothers.
Today Sumitra stood as the embodiment of what Kashi stands for. A place where cultures meet. A place where every sin is forgiven. The tears that flowed from her eyes were like waters of Ganga that cleanse the sins of forefathers and save the present generation. She saved Raghuvansh from breaking by dedicating her sons towards service of their brothers.
Sometimes we will also be faced with tough situations. Situations which we can discuss, but if by keeping the situation a secret we can take positive step to minimize its impact we should do that. In every situation look for what is in our control. Take charge of that. Don't worry about what is not in our control. Because if we the control we have the right way whatever situation comes from things that are not in our control end result will be positive. That is the message Sumitra gives. She gives back what Kausalya and Kaikeyi gave her. In short she remembers the way she came and she doesn't want that unity to go at any cost.
