I prefer to see Ravan as he really was.
SPK is a disaster. This show is better than that one.

But Karna is not a negative character. He is considered to be one of the greatest heroes of the Mahabharata

Yes dear! Remember you 😉 I would prefer to see Ravan as what he was too..and for that matter even Ram.. 😊 I cant really comment much as I dont know much.. hoping to read more and finding out about every character!
And SPK.. I heard a lot about the comic scenes there 😆😆

And oh yeah, you know what, Karna is literally the worst one for me! For me.. others may definitely have a different opinion and I try my best to respect it.. If you like Karna, then also I respect your view 😊
Its just that I am an ardent Karna hater so I call him a negative character xD

That is y we had become friends...😆...that was before you walked up and went away to the opposite side...😉

Same here.. I dont know Ramayan as well as Mahabharat..but I do have interest..hoping to have loads of debate here and finding out more about all the characters.. and well, after SKR, I decided to do some reading regarding Ramayan and discussed with my friends (I bet you know them😉) and then..I was drawn towards Seeta! I love her! She is definitely my favourite in Ramayan!

And you like Ram! You are one of those few people who is a Bengali,, and say they like Ram! Actually not only Bangalis.. people hate Ram! I don't.. dunno if i shud comment but whatever I know of him,, just like any other human he had flaws but not as much to HATE him :p

Maybe we should skip the Mahabharat talks here n avoid any kind of Kurukshetra War in Ramayan forum...
Lets focus on Ramayan n Ashish Sharma's six packs n Madirakshi's gorgeous eyes...😆
That will keep both our minds n health in place...😆

Yes I like Ram...And when have I been the quintessential Bengali? 😉
Remember my likes n dislikes in the other epic?

As for Sita...I like her a lot but I aways thought she was one docile, submissive woman...atleast that is how she is portrayed popularly. But I got some breaking news that Valmiki's Sita was pretty straight-forward n outspoken...just the kind of woman I like...😉

I will only believe once I read Valmiki's Ramayan with my own eyes...no more faith in any blogs or serials...but nonetheless...if thats how she was then she would certainly be my favourite too...😊

But the moment she saw Lakshman with the jewelry, she concluded him as a prince and as he called Ram as bhaiyya, she accepted Rama s a Prince

Definitely, it isn't about Gold jewels. it's all about Royal look.in Ramayana, at exile, when Hanuman witnessed two brothers first time, he described them as sages who having Royal look. that basic sense also eliminated here. I know CVS intention was what Justlikethat told. but they're stayed in Treat Yuga. in very beginning of SKR, They showed King Janak farming. So why should one get surprise if prince do farming. it's a cliche. but as a viewer my opinion is ,As Janaki Akka said before CVS are keen to show Janakas are always perfect but projecting RAM as exceptional from Raghu Vansh. very wrong interpretation of Ramayana

Exactly, Raghuvanshis and Nimivanshis were both exalted and highly respected in their times. King Dashrath was no lesser than King Janak, and SKR failed big time in showing his greatness.

Right Janaki Akka. There were scenes in which it was depicted that Dashrath does not care for the common subjects of the kingdom which is untrue since I have read that he used to roam in the streets of Ayodhya dressed as a civilian to enquire about the welfare of his subjects.

Another problem which I have is that they are portraying Kaikeyi as a typical vamp.It gives the viewers a wrong image of Kaikeyi.

Why are the makers showing Janak n his wife with lesser jewellery as compared to Dasharath n his wives?
I am loving this simplicity but the lack of grandeur...is it part of the epic or just the serial...

Enjoying reading all the posts...I was actually liking the simplicity of the show n it's closeness to reality when all of a sudden Ravan landed in Mithila with a giant golden spaceship...or wait should I call it aircraft...😆

Was it really like that in the epic?😆

And Mithila seems to be somewat simpler compared to other kingdoms...
The minister of Ravan seems to wear more gold than the King n Queen n even princesses of Mithila...😆

i don't know about the epic, but in other televised version pushpaka looked like a winged horseless charriot.
