If CVS show Ramayana, then we can question their acting skills. but CVS are obsessed over rebel sita and warrior ram. so please don't...

I know its even directors fault... (U can see that's what I ve written in bold part)

And ofcourse ashish is playing that character onscreen so he will Also HV to bear his part of criticism...

All praises toh waise bhi goes to actor only... Nobody praises director wen some scene is good...then why criticism only for director...?!!

Honestly he has rough looks... Imo he'l look great in character like indrajit... But not good choice for ram...
Strictly my opinion... I'm not forcing my opinion on anybody ..so peace😊

I can't link you, but yes in many South Indian versions of Ramayan, Ravan does come to Sita's swayamvar, but even though I'm South Indian, I do not agree with this version because it's illogical for me on many levels. Like Vrish and I discussed earlier, had Ravan really come to Sita's swayamvar, nothing would have kept him from battling all the Kings and Janak to abduct Sita then and there. He wouldn't have slunk away like a mouse after failing to lift the dhanush. 😆

One version that has Ravan in the swayamvar is Kamban Ramayan, which is prominent in Tamil Nadu. In fact, most of the popular stories surrounding Ravan, are from Kamban.

Rukmini too was found in the fields by Raja Bhishmaka. While he and his wife were walking through their kingdom one day, they heard the sound of a baby crying and came upon her in the fields, and adopted her as their daughter. They had already had five sons, and were happy to finally have a daughter.

The similarities between Sita and Rukmini are many. Both of them were incarnations of Mahalakshmi, and both of them supported their husbands in all their leelas.

but I didn't Read in Kambar's like Raavan and Ram attended Swayamwar at same time. but I agree that Kambar mentioned Janak or someone else told Ram that even Raavan failed to take that bow. Raavan attending Swayamwar not described anywhere(up to my knowledge)

This is what's making me laugh. Why would Ayodhya decline an invitation to the swayamvar? 🤣 This is wrong on so many levels. Had Ayodhya declined the swayamvar, Ram would never have participated in it, knowing his parents had declined the invitation.

Also, Lanka had never received an invitation. In the versions that have Ravan coming to the swayamvar, he came uninvited, that's what is significant to remember. Janak tried to stop him, but even he could not prevent Ravan from trying to lift the dhanush.

I haven't read Kamban, just mentioned what someone else told me who read it. But there are definitely versions that do have this story, because it's a popular one and shown in many South Indian movies. In fact, South Indian movies on Ramayana cannot go without showing Ravan in Sita's swayamvar, lol, as it adds more masala to the tale. 😆

Mandodari is going to be played by Piyali Munshi, who also played the lead role of Goddess Durga in Sagar Arts' recent Jai Jag Janani Maa Durga. She is really beautiful and her makeup for the role looks apt. Wish they had given Sita a costume like this!
