Today we again saw why Rama was called maryada purshottam, and why Sita was the ideal partner for him
For they both put others above them

For they both care about not just their own but enemies too - Sita wanting to treat those injured, even from the enemy sena

They both believing in fulfilling their responsibility above their feelings - Rama meeting the two matas before meeting Kaushalya, for the sake of his younger brothers

And they both radiate and calmness that envelop all those who come in their contact ...

So one kekeyi ma ke haath ka laddoo to writers for establishing that

And one bada wala same pathar that hit Manthara - to the writer who conceived this stupid scene between kekeyi and Bharat.

In their chakkar of making Ramayana modern, they are inserting issues like Bharat preferring to paint over more princely pursuits and kekeyi comparing him, not just comparing but belittling him, in front of Rama

One pathar to the person who chooses the precaps - what a khoda pahad nikla chooha - the whole promo of Sita going to war turned out to be...

But chalo, that was dealt with logically and sensibly by raja Janak

The emotions are well balanced, the scene between Kaushalya and Rama was simple and beautifully touching

Aur Haan one pathar chota sa to Kaushalya also - for not practicing what she preaches, that one must put the needs of the others above self - the sanskara she has given Rama, yet we see always putting self above others

One more laddoo to Rama - for his humility and his respect for elders, be it dasi Manthara, and for always knowing the right things to say : he told kekeyi that she still looks as beautiful as always !

I just hope the makers don't dilute and modernise Ramayana so much. As it is the costumes are too discordant with the materials and styles and techniques of that time!

An episode of Ladoos and patthhars ...

Balanced !

Else we may become diabetic

😆

----------

Thank God ( Rama ) , they haven't turned Sita into a Jhansi ki Rani...at such a young age...just left her at a Florence Nightingale...

I literally took a breath of relief.

Never the less...Happy that they portrayed one more characteristic of Sita , through same., and haven't overdone it by actually sending her to battle field...( even for that she is still young ! ) ...saved the day by some wise words of Janak.

-------------

Yes, it is a known fact that Rama is Kaikeyi's ladla...preferred him over her own son., until the announcement of coronation, but the scene could have been a little subtle in conception.

Afterall., she is meeting both of them for the first time after so many years..

Is Bharat's aptitude a bit more towards Fine Arts as compared to Martial Arts., as per any version of Ramayan ? I do not know...would be happy if any one can throw light on this aspect...😊

-------------

Rama's meeting with Kausalya is beautiful, Could feel her motherly love towards all her sons.
Interestingly, she has been portrayed to be more softer towards Bharat., and a cute but harmless rebuke from Rama was entertaining...and could see even Bharat was at ease infront of Kausalya. 😃

-------------

Wating for the day, Kausalya is freed from the sulky , depressed self, that she is been portrayed from the beginning of the show...hope it happens soon.

------------

I'am OK with the prince's costumes as well as the Ayodhya Queens...Even Janak and Sunaina , I feel are dressed appropriate, given Janaka's Rajarshi sts.
Do not have much complaints on these...

Yes, do agree overall they are subtle and not very heavy...but I personally tend to gravitate towards appreciating such 😊

-----------------

Last but not the least

The lesson I personally learnt 😳 - Never take precaps and promos - seriously , just wait for the entire episode / scene to play out 😆

Loved your laddoo and pathar part.
Wish they increase the pace of the show so that we can head towards what we want to see like about Ram's sister Shanta.

The scene were Kaushalya and the sons meet was nice and heart warming.

They are trying to relate Ramayan to toaday's world which is good but to some extent.

Not to believe ever on the promos and the precaps.

Nice post Arshi!!!!

I don't recall anything about Bharat being inclined to fine arts over martial arts. And anyway the two can coexist in a person, and Rajas and raj Kumars were also often skilled in fine arts too, and were patrons of arts.

So why should kekekyi belittle Bharat?

My only grouse with costumes is that they use styles which could not have been in use then - the layered skirts the girls were wearing were also not in keeping with the times!

Yup, we can always rely on the CVs to take care of health, but not giving too many laddoos

Lovely post

Yesterday's episode was really wonderful with right blend of emotions..

The episode opened with Sita marching forward saying she also want to go to the battlefield...
And what a surprise, she wanted to go there for treating those who are wounded during the war..
After giving so much of promos and precaps they gave us that scene lol,
Happy that they are not distorting any character as of now at least...

I am just loving Ram more and more. Love his serene and calm smile and how he thinks about others before himself :)

Today Kaushalya's scene was very beautiful as you said.. Very excited to see how the truth about Shanta is brought before Ram...

Edited
I may be an odd one out who is liking the costumes..
I agree it's given a contemporary touch specially the Sita and her sisters dress
But I am liking Ram 's attire

Arshi,
Please...I will tell you now itself...
I better get a laddooo for this..😃

Now that this is clear,

Promos are like news paper headlines...

There is no relation between the actual news and the headline. All for catching viewership!!!

And yes, Sita and Ram are match made in heaven. Or Vaikuntha if you want to be specific. Or Ksheerasagar if you want to be even more specific.

Love

@Arshics I made a big post in Kshiti's post on the similarities of Ram-Sita and other takeaways from yesterday epi. Please read

I loved your Pathars. See Bharat I am not sure whether he was like the way he is shown. He was an able administrator as far as I know. But Kaikeyi does come across as a ambitious woman and her eyes always rest on the best.
Somehow I feel Manthara will be manipulating this ambition. And there is another dialogue, dont look at Ram's eyes. They are filled with love. So will she make Kaikeyi look more and more at Bharath so that Kaikeyi stops seeing that loving eyes of Ram is what I feel, so that she asks those 2 boons.
