My take on Episode 6

Captivating is the word that comes to my mind when I have to describe today's episode. It starts with Ram's brothers searching high and low for their Ram, without whom they are like a boat without an anchor. Ram is the thread that ties them all together and they feel bereft in his absence but when their eyes finally land upon their beloved brother, their heartbeats slow down,a sense of relief fills them and they are at peace.Ram who is meditating in the forest, doesn't hear their cries, their fear for him, for he has reached that level of supreme consciousness, where he his mind is filled with the Lord and nothing else. Only when Guru Vashishth comes closer to him and calls him out, then only does he come out of his trance.

Ram explains his fears to his Guru, his worry for the safety of his people, for his father and for the kingdom. Even at that age, we can see how much he cares for everyone, how they matter more to him than even himself. He is plagued by his nightmares where he comes across faces he's never seen in his life. 'Why is it so?' He asks. 'Would knowledge not bring our freedom?' The wise Guru replies how theoretical knowledge alone isn't enough. There will come a day he says, where you would be tested and your goal is to follow the path of truth, free from the clutches of the superficial entities the world offers. Ram understands and seeks his blessings.

In Mithila, King Janak follows Risha Sulbha's advice and invites all the learned ones, the Rishis to a Gyaan sabha so that the most learned one, decided by the gathering itself, can begin Sita's education. Maharishi Yagyavalkya arrives followed by Maharishi Gautam and Rishi Gargi. Queen Sunaina is a bit wary of her as she knows of Gargi's nature; of her independent thinking and also valuing her intelligence superior to anyone else. As we continue with the episode, we realize that this is not the case. Sita however doesn't immediately believe her mother's words and just seems intrigued by her. Maharishi Gautam also comes and immediately requests Janak to give him the opportunity to teach his daughter.

The Gyaan sabha begins. The rishis present are unanimous in voicing their support for Rishi Yagyavalkya as the most knowledgeable of them all. Gargi however interjects and requests the gathering to present a question to him to which he graciously agrees. She asks him how being married, he can continue his quest for truth. The seated gathering is aghast but Sita knowingly smiles. The Rishi, without getting even a little perturbed explains how love which is unselfish and all-giving,can only free and not capture. Love sets you free if it is true but when it expects something, it becomes a bond. How beautifully worded. He gives us the example of a real life instance itself. Mother Earth, Nature.

Nature is all giving. The bountiful trees shade us from the scorching sun. They bear fruits and flowers for our consumption. Nature expects nothing in return. It gives our life saving elixir, Oxygen needed for survival and it's reward is it's life. Mother Earth is warm, caring and giving. It nurtures each and everyone of us, loves us unconditionally. A mother's love is unconditional too. Love that is all giving and if at all a mother or Nature wants anything in return is to receive our unconditional love. Feel the fragrance of flowers around you, tend to the lush green grass, even the wilting ones, the blooming faces of your plants look up to you. Care for them, look after them. She gives us in abundance, let us give the one thing she expects, she deserves. Let us love her back. This is the lesson that was reiterated to us today.👏

Rishi Gargi is convinced with his answer and accepts her defeat so to speak. I will not term this as a defeat and neither does Sita. Somewhere in my post, I had written of how Sita was enamored by her. Is the reason not clear now ? Sita loves her questioning nature, her thirst for knowing, not accepting as it is said and probing, getting to the root of it. Sita goes and hugs Rishi Gargi at the end of the sabha. She understands Gargi and even requests her to be her teacher, to teach her to question as boldly as she did, without any hesitation.Answers stem from a question, it has rightly been said. Gargi is surprised. 'Haven't I lost ?' She asks. A wise Sita replies- It was not a defeat for how can one be defeated when in front of all, one can accept the same. Gargi for all her independence and questioning nature, accepts then and there that there was someone superior in knowledge to her. This impresses Sita to no end. 👏

A sudden problem then arises. The cows that were to be given to the most knowledgable Rishi as pledged by King Janak at the beginning of the Gyaan sabha, are missing. Janak has given his word and is perturbed by the turn of events. Seeing her father's worried state of mind, Sita offers to go in search for the cows in the forest and her sisters support her. Janak agrees to this much to Sunaina's dismay. Sita smiles, having her father's support.

What a beautiful episode. I really have no words 👏Sorry for the late post guys😳 How did you all like it everyone ? Do like the post if you agree and share your views😊

How wonderfully you have penned down ur thoughts on the episode👏

I love how every episode has lessons and messages for us. The Gyaan Sabha sequence showed us what love was all about.

The scenes from the forest with Ram and his Guru were stunning . The lush green locale was incredible and the whole sequence was shot beautifully. On the whole an awesome episode to close off the week.

Wonderful review abhi. 👏
From the first day of the show, they show the parallel happenings in ayodhya and mithila. Yesterday, it's the gyan dharsan for both Ram and Sita. Ram was having the fear after the threatening dream but at that age, he was worried about his father, parents, kingdom & people. But it was just his related stuff. My interpretation of guru words is that Ram has to learn from outside world and think about the prabanjam as a whole.
To connect with current scenario, we know how students of physics, chemistry and mathematics fight arguing which is great among them. But at one point we know there is no stand alone physics, chemistry, maths or biology. Yes, thats why we have interdisciplinary scheme now. Relating the words, it is just not problem for ayodhya it's the problem for mithila too. Till now I have not known about the janak's involvement in Ram's exile and war with Ravan.
What is that expression exchange between satyanand and maharishi gautham? I have a feeling that it is about his curse to ahalya but is satyanand related to them by any means? Eager to know, how the story unfolds in this aspect. I also thought that Sita questioning rishi Gautham was a bloomer, but let me wait to know more.
Gyan sabha was simply mind-blowing. Each and every word was invaluable.⭐️ Suniana's fear for gargi's nature was quite relatable. But Gargi's approach was stunning. The actress simply nailed it. By the way, I want to see her more.😉
Wow, ur take about discussion in gyan sabha is superb. 👏I don't think, I can add more to it. I just second u dear.
Then comes our little angel, Sita. OMG, I am bowled yet again by her. Standing ovation to her brilliance. I have a feeling that she is not merely acting. She is just being what she is. Yes, we are attracted to the one who just don't win but to the one who shows their uniqueness in the approach. Is Gargi, the guru for sita?
Is the missing of cow give way for sita to know about ahalya and gautham or is something more to it? Because, the words/behaviour of sruthakriti's mom is suspicious.
Overall, one more excellent episode. Outstanding dialogues and superb acting. My appreciation to the entire team 👏 and I am eagerly looking forward.😊

Abhinaya I have been reading all your takes
You are an amazing writer 👏

I loved the episode but was waiting to see how u word it...

Coming to the episode I just loved the gyan sabha scene.. And specially the Q/A session between Gargi and the rishi...
So rightly he said true love is boundless
The sun provides the earth with sunlight and warmth without any expectation of repay from earth. Like ways the earth keeps revolving around the sun as a feeling of reverence...(that is how I feel about earth's revolution)
And the life is nothing else but the fruit of this ardent love between the prithvi nd surya

Sita hugging Gargi scene was very cute
And how rightly she said
"It's not easy to except defeat "

Hats off to the cvs for such well written episode
And actors aced it !!!

Missed the episode yesterday. But superbly written abhi. Will catch it later today hopefully.
Extremely glad to see that shakthi is being given complete importance not just in the form of siya but all female characters.
Kousalya though still being shown as sulking wife will be shown in better light later on hopefully.
I don't want kaikeyi role to be miss interpreted.
Shantha does have a role to play later on in ram life.
Want to see how it will be shown.

Thank you Varshu 😳
Same here, and the best part about it is the lessons or morals are never in your face but subtle throughout and it is upto the viewers to interpret the scenes in their way.

I loved the forest scenes too. As you said, it was shot beautifully <3 Agree👏
