I'm with the minority in this thread. I feel the show is wonderfully balanced right now.

As for the Mishti - Mauli scene, it was very realistic. Mauli was visibly upset and those insecurities are very much something every working mom goes through - even with a fully functional husband.

The scene ended very well. It didn't take much to convince Mishti once she was off her bad mood. She was immediately defending her mother, and Ishaan was very impressed with how quickly she handled herself. There didn't seem to be anything more to that scene.

Kunal is a paediatrician and Mauli is gynaecologist. Any day her job is more trying than his. Kunal was a bad husband to Mauli . That doesn't mean he has to be a bad father. He has stayed loyal to Nandini. What they both did to Mauli was bad, but the writers are not giving them out as black characters. They are grey. There doesn't seem to be any glorification there.

The question the viewer should ask is, how or why did a good son and father turn out to be a heartless husband. Obviously, it was not Mauli's fault. So, where did Kunal go wrong and when will he realise that? All we want is for him to understand how much he hurt Mauli and more importantly how his jazbaat deprived his daughter of a father's love. The focus is more on Mishti here, than Pari. Mishti bravely covers up a lot, but deep down she is very sad- and the reason is not her mother.

exactly very well said 👏👏

I think Mauli was missing because Aditi was on a a break. She cannot work 24/7. Its Diwali week and Shakti already took a vacation whereas Aditi was working non-stop. These are filler episodes and they wanted to show how Mishti had a full family where one member takes over when the other two are upset. This is how normal families work. If Mauli would have gone to explain, Mishti would have been more angry, would have thrown a tantrum like kids do with mothers but when Radhika explained, it helped her see a different view and understand her mistake. A perfect balancing act. It was perfectly natural for Mishti to get upset but as a family they handled it well.

On the other side, Pari has no one, only Kunal and she is losing out on things because of her parents actions which they clearly showcased through Kunal's dialogues.

That was realistic, working women really find it difficult to balance between personal and professional life. Expectations from women are double, they don't expect from men to cook and take care of kids after coming from work. Women have to struggle between office, home, kitchen and kids. Job of a gynecologist is not a joke, they are dealing with life and death, their working hours are odd and they have to available at any time. It doesn't mean family won't miss that member. Family has every right to complain sometimes, but it doesn't mean they should give place of that member to someone else, like it happened with kunnu who didn't take much time to bring Nannu to fill wife's space on bed. Kunnu's case was different, his problem was not wife remaining busy, his real issue was those thumkas in rain, he was not able to get that dance out of his pea size brain.

I hope they shouldn't do same with Mishty... Mishty watching kunnu dancing in rain, Nannu taught him those steps to hypnotize anyone with dance and Mishti finding it difficult to consider Mauli as his mom coz of dance and thumkas.

Hmm, so originally I really felt bad for Mauli, why she receives this sort of treatment again and again just cuz she works. But then I read some of the replies here, slightly on the minority and I do see how this show is being real.

My mom is a housewife but still I sometimes lash out at her, I even lash out at my dad when he doesn't spend time with me. And I'm way older than this kid here. And just like Mishti, I immediately feel guilty and even start crying sometimes and apologise. So when I saw the same in Mishti, I understood how it's real.

As for Mauli getting worried, she's bound to feel that way after all that she's been through. She's even relating it to Kunal but that was a different case where she was not at fault. So I guess we should just watch how everything unfolds.

On a different note, I like how the episode was balanced between Mishti and Pari, both got their fair share of dialogues, screen space and all. And little Pari slightly being upset over Mishti crying was really adorable. Waiting to watch the episode today :)

First they show Kunal's scene where he blurts that he gets Pari ready for school, he picks her up, he's there when she gets home, he puts her to bed
Do I have a problem with this? No

Then there is Kunal self pity scene where he says that everyone rejected KuNan and he didn't wanna hurt Nandini anymore so he left

Then there is this scene - Mauli comes out of her room talking on phone, Mauli scolds Mishti then Mishti tells her that she hates her because she never has time for Mishti

The scene between Radhika and Mishti could have been Mauli and Mishti no? Mauli just left the house without consoling her crying daughter, a daughter who told her that she hates her, we could have seen Mauli making her understand that her work is something she can not let go.

Then there is a scene of Kunal oiling Pari's hair

Clearly, last night parallel was made between Mauli and Kunal to show that mauli is a bad inconsiderate mother like she was a bad inconsiderate wife.

I don't mind Kunal being super dad, they could have shown Mauli going after Mishti to console her, even a minute long mother - Daughter scene would have been enough for us, but I don't understand the progressive nature of a thought where a single working father has no problem raising his child but single working mother is a bad mother and apparently hated by her child

i dont understand why kunal isnt facing the same problem being a working man & single parent. or has he stopped working & hit a goldmine.
or maybe mauli need to work more because she has to support more people

Generally Gynaecologists do have more work and at random odd hours compared to Paediatrics. Also, like you said it could be cuz Kunal has to support himself and his child while Mauli has a whole family to feed. Then again, Pari can't really compare Kunal with anyone. She can't be mad at him as he's the only family she knows. So whatever time he spends with her is good for her. But that's not the case with Mishti. She sees her Dadi, Dida and even Ishaan have so much time on their hands for her but her mumma is working. So compared to them, Mauli is spending less time with her. It's sort of like when you take your parents for granted and you lash out at them. Pari ke case mein, hai hi ek insaan, how will she even lash out. If she had her mom, she'll always be with her and Pari could say the same dialogue to her dad.
