The point is that audience is not stupid to not understand the crux of a real sacrifice. This won't be the first show to go sacrifice way. There have been much better tracks in the history to show that.
Wanna talk bout sacrifice, watch Lavanya from IPKKND season 1, despite she loved Arnav, she let him go.
Watch Manmarziyaan show, where despite being in love with Samaira, Neil let her go to Arjun and despite being in love with Arjun, Radhika let go of Arjun so that samaira can have her happiness. And these characters chose friendship over their love.
Watch Cocktail to know about sacrifice when Diana noved out of Veronica only so that Saif-Veronica could be together.
Watch YJYD, where Deepika was ready to let go of Ranbir only because she loved him so much to akways keep his happiness on priority.
And there are countless examples to show what sacrifice and upholding it means in real sense. People do it still when their love for other person is much stronger than their own love.

This doesn't even come as a sacrifice. It would have been a sacrifice if Nandini had left the city back then when she was proposed. I would have never hated her if she had done this.

I would have liked to see her fighting back. I would have like to see her do some attempt at fleeing or keep verbally slapping Rajdeep for all she was worth. Even if her reason for sacrificing was Mauli, I did not like it at all that she just got ready and came out to get burned that way without retaliating at all. They showed her fighting with Rajdeep twice where she came out the winner then why not yesterday.

If she was ready to sacrifice by dying and then today she should have stood in front of Kunal and told him , "That this is my decision and I do not want to continue with you", whether Kunal wants to continue with Mauli or no its his decision and whether Mauli wants to continue with Kunal or no, its her decision but Nandini should have stood her ground.

Now, again it looks like she is letting Kunal take the decision for her. This is still the same Nandini who just does not want to think for herself and goes with the flow. Kunal told her, lets be together, she agreed, then Mauli told her leave Kunal, she agreed, now again Kunal is telling her, I want to be with you, not Mauli ,she might agree.

Its still is the plain old Nandini...

It's all about perspective. I think if I was in Nandani's shoes and I went back to my abuser then that would mean a big step for me. Not to show my self as someone pure but because that's what would lead people to believe that I am serious about my decision to move away from the affair chapter. Rajdeep trying to burn her alive sounds a lot more life punishment that whitewashing her but that is just my opinion. But, why the writers take one step forward and 10 step backwards with Nandani is beyond me so I can try and understand her all I can and it will still never be enough.

She didn't go to Rajdeep he blackmailed her then she stood there ready to sacrifice her life for a promise she made to drunk Mauli, whitewashing meaning trying to show her as this goody goody positive character, who can do anything for Mauli, she can die for a promise she made to Mauli that's what they want to portray.. But it's ridiculous because she can't break a promise but she can lie to Mauli, hide Kunal in her washroom, sleep with him

The plain old Nandini, who's not responsible for her actions and that's the problem. She is being treated like a kid, writers want viewers to treat her like a kid, who has no say in her life, it's not her fault if she slept with her best friend's husband, she is not responsible for the pain Mauli is going through that's not her responsibility, she is never held responsible for her actions, the only thing people attribute to her in the show are Kunal attributing her the birthday party preparation for Mauli, Nandini saying that she is sacrificing Kunal for Mauli..

Nandini hardly attemted to fight Rajdeep alone and she still doesn't for some weird reasons. She lose her senses everywhere as if her mind doesn't work at all. As if running away or expecting someone to rescue is the only thing to do.
Only time she took a stand against Rajdeep single-handedly was when he tried to rape her in her apartment and when Rajdeep beat him up.

No doubt that Rajdeep is brought to force KuNan together. Otherwise Nandini hardly shows a firm, strong stand of her life unless forced to do so with Rajdeep.

Didn't you get it? She was standing there like a martyr all ready to be engraved to the best friend's hall of fame, the first and last entry

Exactly. CV's are actually treating her like a porcelain doll. Make her take responsibility, make her feel guilty, make her show remorse. If sacrifice is the way to go, then make her stand firm on her decision. Mauli is standing right in front of her and she is not able to see her pain. Is this the same Nandini who was pinning for Mauli and cried when she saw Mauli after so many years.

If she stands for Mauli today and tells Kunal, "How dare you treat my friend this way..I cannot do this to my friend, how much ever I love you , you need to go, I cannot be with you". That will be something...

Birthday party and being sati are not the way to do it...

Exactly.

She takes one step forward sincerely, but she just goes back 10 steps. Sacrifice means standing firm on the ground no matter what. It takes a lot of strength to stand firm on a decision of sacrifice because there will always be temptations.
I can't see Nandini sacrificing. It was positive for me to watch when Nandini still decided to leave the city after that video message. (honestly it was) But like 10 hours later, she is back to her old self where she lets Kunal take a decision for herself. If she was so sincere about taking a decision for herself, then why not stand on it even now. If friendship was so important to her even now, then why not give it back to Kunal now. If she went to sacrifice herself in that fire, then it should be Mauli for whom she was sacrificing herself & not Kunal. What's the point of being forced to take a decision by blackmail or a pinky promise? How is it a sacrifice? It means you clearly lack a conscience of your own to see & understand things

And Nandini going back to Rajdeep for sacrifice will be the stupidest thing to watch. She can leave city but no, she has to go to Rajdeep & be abused, tortured & killed to show the sacrifice, as if there is no other way for her to show sacrificing in real sense. She is not trapped in Rajdeep's clutches where there is no other escape. She has escape & she can escape, then why not take that route to show that your promise to a friend means something. But it's no use now, since Kunal already knows about the pinky promise thing. So, the show has gotten past to show sacrifice on Nandini's part. Nothing at this moment can be considered a sacrifice on her part.

But NO, makers are more interested to show this woman as a true lover rather than a true friend & a woman who would stand for her dignity.
Nandini can compromise with her dignity, self-esteem as a woman but not with Kunal. And that's the part I don't like. She wants to be with a man who has barely taken any stand for her in front of the whole world. Kunal can take a stand for her in front off Mauli, his family. Nandini can take a stand for him in front of Rajdeep. But that's it. When it comes to others, these two just go quiet and Nandini goes to crying mode. None of them have words to utter escape Mauli who can still say that this is their matter to speak on.

That's the only reason why I am not liking Mauli too at this point. I understand her hurt & anger, her pregnancy & her own feelings weighing her down as a wife but I don't like her begging for Kunal since that's a compromise on her individual self-respect & dignity. It's simply painful for me to watch.
